Assalamualaikum Yusuf, does the soba restaurant halal or muslim friendly restaurant? Because I didn't found it on halal media Japan or so. Thank before :)
@YusufIbrahim7 жыл бұрын
Isyana G. Waalikom asalam Isyana! The Soba restaurant is a vegetarian restaurant and they do not serve any meat so technically it's Halal. We also checked with the restaurant that the broth is vegetarian and does not contain meat. You won't find the restaurant on the app but in the Japan Michelin guide you will find it. The Japan Michelin guide also tells you all the vegetarian restaurants. Let me know if you want some more restaurant recommendations in Osaka or Kyoto!

Oh, so it doesn't contain any haram ingredients like mirin, gelatin, any meat essential or so, right? very good than. Wah, if you mind to share some halal restaurant in Osaka and Kyoto or halal street food it would be very nice :) Thanks a lot, Yusuf

Salam! Ok here are a few: In general, you will want to eat the following foods in Japan before you leave: 1) Sushi!! Make sure you try different types of fish not just salmon, Uni is delicious but it is strong flavor at the start 2) Udon noodles - these are thicker noodles that are usually accompanied with Tempura vegetables and shrimp 3) Soba Noodles - they are similar to udon but thinner and usually served cold and you dip the soba noodles in a soy sauce 4) RAMEN!!! this is a very fatty and tasty dish, I will give you a few halal options below 5) Okonomayaki - It is a noodle pancake haha but really delicious. For Tokyo here are the places you can check out: 1) Sushi - I would definitely make sure you visit the fish market and eat as much sushi as possible. Try to go for morning to get the freshest and best fish. Make sure you try the sushi maki pieces and the Donbori (sushi bowls) All the sushi here is halal, there is no alcohol in the rice, we tried it and asked the chefs around. If you do not want to eat the rice then eat the sashimi (only the fish) 2) Ramen - here are a few halal options : Naritaya Halal Ramen Shop Halal Ramen Ouka 3) Japanese BBQ Halal Sumiyakiya [Roppongi] 4) Street food!! the best street food in Tokyo and really cheap food is located at Ameya-Yokochō beside Ueno Park. This is a great place to try different kinds of street food like Takiyaki and even sushi at a really cheap price. 5) I would also try the BBQ eel (Unagi) Restaurants - The top two are Hashimoto and Obana Restaurant. The rice has no alcohol or mirin etc. 6) Okonomiyaki - I would go to this restaurant for a really cool experience: Sometaro Okonomiyaki 7) Izakaya - I would try Uoshin which is a restaurant that serves mainly fish dishes that are Izakaya style (family style sharing meals) really delicious Osaka: 1) Dotonbori is where you will find a lot of great street food, shopping and popular restaurants 2) Sushi!! try to go early to Endo Sushi really old place that is great quality sushi 3) Kuromon Market - this market has so much great food you have to check it out. A lot of seafood options here. 4) Udon: Sanshyu Udon - the Udon broth is made from miso and vegetables. 5) Okonomiyaki Kiji Kyoto: 1) Tofu and Yuba (tofu Skin) this is a speciality in Kyoto - Gion Karyo restaurant 2) Macha Ice cream! they make the best matcha here. Make sure you buy the Matcha tea and ice cream here, the best in the country 3) Shigetsu - Arashiyama this is a vegetarian restaurant and it is really peaceful and calm Tokyo will have everything haha so make sure you enjoy the food there. If you need help booking a restaurant ask your hotel in Japan and they will do it for you. I would say to try halal ramen because it is hard to find ramen without the pork broth. There are places that only use fish broth in their ramen but it is hard to communicate and find those restaurants. If you are in need of Halal meat there is a great app to use: www.halalmedia.jp/ This will tell you all the halal restaurants and locations. Also you can use this website too: www.tsunagujapan.com/must-try-halal-restaurants-in-the-tokyo-area/

what is michelin star ?
@YusufIbrahim7 жыл бұрын
dnia sya Hey! Michelin Star is an award that restaurants receive by the Michelin guide. The restaurants that get a Michelin Star are considered some of the best restaurants in the world. Here is a link to see what Michelin stars are in Japan: gm.gnavi.co.jp/restaurant/list/tokyo/
@daniaaisya4167 жыл бұрын
Yusuf Ibrahim thank you so much for the reply ! are all those restaurants halal tho ?
@YusufIbrahim7 жыл бұрын
dnia sya Hello! These restaurants are halal because they do not serve meat, it is only vegetarian and the broth and sauces are made from vegetarian:) Halal is only for when you are eating meat, so these restaurants are all vegetarian and no alcohol in the sauces either

If you were to recommend one food from this food tour, which one?
@YusufIbrahim7 жыл бұрын
There is just so much amazing food that it is a hard decision. But I would definitely recommend trying the Soba noodles restaurant called Takama because they were the best Soba noodles I had in Japan! Also, if you have time to stop by Kuromon Market that is a great place to try a lot of local fresh foods.

How do you find halal restaurants ?
@YusufIbrahim6 жыл бұрын
Salaam! When you visit japan you can download an app called Halal Media Japan that shows you all the halal restaurants in each city in Japan :D there are a lot of options in Japan you just have to research them !
@mohammed130nazer76 жыл бұрын
Yusuf Ibrahim is it hard to find them or its just everywhere
@YusufIbrahim6 жыл бұрын
Mohammed Nazer Salaam! It is difficult to find them because there is very little English so it is hard to see which ones are halal, you have to google them before you go. But a lot of food is vegetarian or seafood so it is easy, but if you want chicken or beef you need to google it
@shaipurbakhtiar017 жыл бұрын
How do you it is halal.....free from pork or lard...or in line with syariah?
@YusufIbrahim7 жыл бұрын
In Japan, if you eat soba or udon noodles the broth is vegetarian and does not contain any pork/lard. Also the street food is either vegetarian or seafood and they do not mix it with pork. We also used google translate to ask if there are any meat products and they would answer back. But we did a lot of research to know which foods are vegetarian and seafood. If you see the food we ate it is mainly vegetarian or seafood :D. The only broth that contains meat is Ramen which we did not have unless we went to a Halal certified restaurant.
@saka10296 жыл бұрын
Takoyaki is OK. Okonomiyaki and yakisoba contasin pork in general. All of them are served with brown source which may contain pork meat extract. I think the street food makers don't know its components exactly.
@YusufIbrahim6 жыл бұрын
saka1029 yea we didn’t eat yakisoba it looked amazing tho lol.
