Well done Lucy, that was a bit challenging. Love Ember he has such a lot of, well, everything, and usually all at once! Enjoyed filling in the bleeps. Thanks for sharing.

Ember is a fire cracker! I almost thought Ember got your nose when he bashed his head on you. Its Good practice to be out and about with a group. Great Video!!! xxxx

Oh dear. "Let's go for a nice relaxing group hack" they said. "It'll be fun, they said". Gosh, yes, very relaxing indeed. NOT! I think in this video he was back to his crazy antics just like I remember watching all that time ago when you first got him. I have to say I admire you for not appearing to be intimidated by what happens with him sometimes. When I was riding a few years ago, it would have really scared me to be on a horse like that. I did have an experience of being bolted with once, when a horse was scared by kids on motorbikes suddenly and it was very frightening. I managed to turn him in a circle eventually but I remember that feeling of not thinking he was going to ever stop. Well done to you Lucy!

I’ll let him off as it was his first group outing for a while! Thanks for watching 🙏

You can take the race horse out of the race course, but you can't take the "born to run" away!

That's why Thorougbreds make fantastic Eventers, they'll gallop all day long. They'll also keep going till the end of the x-country course!!

Living in hilly Sheffield is a bit challenging on a bike, but sometimes 80 vertical metres is just what you need for a pony 😅

That was a tad exciting! You cope so well with his antics and head throwing. Obviously you are using all the correct aids, but have you tried more voice commands? I was taught to ask for walk, in a sort of singy voice, trrrrot.....in a firmer voice and canter in a quick voice. Asking to come back from canter to trot, lots of repetitive trrrot, trrrot. Just a thought. Good ride girls.

Well ridden Lucy, Ember was very fresh so it was expected that he’d try get away from you. Even if you were alone with him he’d have done it I think maybe not quite as strong though. We use to sit in our saddles for a few paces when we first began to canter when they were fresh may help you . He’s a beautiful boy I love him he’s just like Goldie the 7 f tb I rode back in my days always got very excited took a while tbh for us to connect too. Boss had me in the field cantering him until I could hold him on the corners etc. once I cracked that with him it was beach and practice track at the course. He loved me as I did him and you two are the same. Ember has taught you a lot now it’s his turn to listen to you it’ll happen so good luck.tfs🤗🏇🤗

Do you use any calming cookies? Or calming powder? I’m wanting to try some on my thoroughbred but not sure if they would work 😂❤

It's no fun trying to hold back a charging horse who tries to run off with you. You handled it very well.

Maybe Ember would benefit from a real blow out run once a week or so. He is bred for running.

Being head butted is never fun. I am not one for gadgets normally but might be worth trying a standing martingale with elastic inserts for these kind of rides

ahhhh poor horse, he wants to run and needs to run! I'd love to see him run full speed ahead with a go pro on your helmet. I'm guessing it's too dangerous with out a proper dirt racetrack maybe? I'm sorry if I sound rude, I have only a few experiences with horses.

#RUDE Also, Racehorses don't just race on a dirt racecourse, they also gallop on a grass track!!
