I wonder if people that think drivers have it so easy even have a general concept of what transit life is like. The fact there’s even a sign in your face as you get on the bus saying, “it’s a federal crime to touch or spit on a driver” is pretty telling to what “bus driver life” is really like.

I'm not a bus driver (yet), but working in customer service for many years, asking them to leave before you call the cops works 90% of the time. The other 10%, I call the cops right in front of them and they leave 🤣 Very rarely do they want police involved because they know that their actions will have real consequences!

I see..well you will definitely deal with a lot more people directly. That is an interesting decision you have to make. I’d say maybe..ride a couple of bus routes during the busy times of the day and observe. Then of course compare pay and benefits. I appreciate you watching the videos!!

Pot smoking passengers are mostly chill... alcohol abusers are often the cause of rage. Driver deescalation attempts are largely futile. Inform the “Karen” of imminent police arrival, that may lead to their voluntary exit. Keep the vids coming!

We have riders like that where I live. They live on the bus sometimes and just lie to get a free ride. It's really frustrating because it takes the peace out of your ride. Twice I found out neighbors will do this. It feels too much like stalking and it's disheartening to have to see people you don't want to be around all the time.

I hear you Mr Bus Driver. However, it might a good idea explain and post somewhere, the ""Pulling out" rule. A curb is a curb is a curb: the risk of injury, it seems to me, is the same no matter where you board the bus; at the stop or while puling out....unless there is something I have missed....

@BusDriverLife3 жыл бұрын
It really depends on the bus but a lot of the CNG buses have the fuel tanks on top of the buses so that is probably what you’re seeing
@arisusakayanagi55903 жыл бұрын
@@BusDriverLife ah interesting, thank you
@seraphina9857 ай бұрын
That is probably because CNG is lighter than air so moving the tank to the top means any leaks discharge away from the occupied compartment.

The last video happened on Dublin Bus here in Ireland. Yeah there's a lot of scumbag passengers here alright I think they exist everywhere. Although I think the driver may have broken company policy as drivers are supposed to remain in the cab area if there is an incident in case of an assault.
@BusDriverLife3 жыл бұрын
That’s very interesting..it probably is more safe in the cab..I wish more bus companies in the U.S had a full enclosed cab
@stephenhyland42563 жыл бұрын
I've heard mixed reports about it some drivers I believe feel a little trapped in the cab others feel safe. I've also heard the perspex screen can be broken easily but I guess it offers some protection. The reason we have the screens in Ireland is because the unions wanted it. Is this something drivers in the US want and have the unions been fighting for it?
