Two seasons was an injustice for this show! Wonderful cast. Funny, well-written scripts. And a terrific theme song! RIP Jack Warden

I *LOVED* this show when it first aired on CBS...and the theme music was just one of the best parts of it.

That was when there was respect and reverence for a memorable television theme song. None of this credit-crunching at the end.

This was a very enjoyable series that should have had a longer run. Jack Warden and John Rubinstein made a good comedy team.

What a great show! It was broadcast here in Mexico under the name "Casta de Zorros" and was a great success along with Greatest American Hero ("Superheroe por Accidente"), Magnum P.I. etc good times.

What he really says is, "Dad, you keep forgetting, I'm a lawyer; you're the detective." He's pointing out the major plot thread of this series, which is that Harry Fox, Sr. was continually trying to draw his less-adventuresome son into helping him in his investigations.

It may be the 1987, post-series teleflick "Still Crazy Like a Fox" that you're thinking of here. It was definitely set in England and featured "Monty Python" trouper Graham Chapman in a rare straight role as a detective inspector.

A classic case of a network sabotaging a show that should have run longer. It had a great time slot after "Murder She Wrote" on Sunday nights but suddenly CBS decided to put it opposite "Dynasty" and that was the end of the show, basically.

This was one of the shows that the whole family watched. As another person remarked, it was an injustice that the show was taken off the air...it was still a popular program when it was canceled. "Still Crazy Like a Fox" came along in 1987 as a made-for-TV movie. It's not typical for a TV series that ran a year and a half to get a made-for-TV movie afterwards. I think the 1987 movie was the network's way of saying "we're sorry" for canceling the series abruptly in 1986.

Next to MacGyver, my favorite TV theme song of all time. Shame this show was only on for 2 seasons. What a crime.
@peterharris3027 жыл бұрын
This show was a hit in its first season, so what did the network do? Move it all over the schedule in the second season and cancel it after another year. The theme song should have been in contention for an Emmy, but it premiered the same year as Murder, She Wrote (which won) and Miami Vice.

Because that's what stupid networks seem to like to do. As soon as a series becomes popular, it gets switched to another time slot to die a slow death.

THIS IS WHAT TV WAS LIKE BACK WHEN TV WAS WORTH WATCHING! Great shows like this. Shows that appealed to everyone. Entertaining, exciting, funny, well acted, and family friendly. Not like today with talentless idiots on reality shows. Cheating on their spouse, voting others out, whining & complaining. I'm sure glad I'm a "Gen X'er"!

I remember when this first made it to British television, it was really good but then later some berk had the idea of basing an episode or special in London-big mistake, using the clichéd cor blimey guv'nor chirpy cockney accents-ye gods when are you Americans going to learn that not every one speaks like Dick van Dyke!-he apologised for his appalling accent in Mary Poppins btw :D This was a good series though.
