If second chance buffed a card you wanted to die so it could use it’s on played ability it would make it harder to kill. So a buff wouldn’t be great in that situation.

Second chance is so overrated because of boba yellow just sending it back to your hand with any of the spells that send units to your hand. Cunning, waylay, they could even now capture it

I don’t think you can ECL out Rancor because it’s double red so would cost 8?

The printed cost is 6 so it is still eligible. You’d have to pay 8, however.

Whenever a card refers to a cards cost, like ECL saying 6 or less, it refers to the printed cost.

Second chance is dogshit. Cunning is so favored ffg isn’t even trying to make the game seem balanced. Final showdown is miles better than this, even endless legions is way ahead. I don’t get how they can playtest the cards and come to the conclusion “yep, a card that readies all units making you win the game is as good as an upgrade that lets you get a unit back, but only if you haven’t claimed yet”. I’m so pissed bc i was excited for the double vigilance card since i play mono blue iden thinking it was gonna be a big heal/ removal event but no, it’s this shit

It isn't so favored that every deck you will come across will be cunning and not all cunning decks run waylay. A Mono blue unit focused deck, as opposed to the traditional Iden, would certainly play this. If its bad in a matchup you can just resource it, the same way you wouldn't play Final Showdown unless you win. Both Bendu and Fenn Rau reduce the cost of the card. Endless legion you can make the same argument against for Cunning... The chances that your cunning opponent doesn't interact with your hand before 14 resources is pretty low. Second Chance also has some of the highest future value. Any blue unit that comes out in the future with a particularly strong when played/defeated will cause players to look at Second Chance. A Card doesn't have to be good right now to be better then people give it credit for.
