It's not just bad for that though. Putting a child in something that is built to imitate a figure that girls don't get until after puberty. It made what could have been a cute outfit, a little uncomfortable, shaking her hips like that with a VoiceOver talking about training her waist to look smaller? It's sexualising an underaged girl. Im glad the judge at least explained that that's not even a category they consider, so its not the competitions fault. It's the mothers.

No wonder the child had a meltdown about the nails when the mother reacted like this about her daughter winning a title. Just because it wasn't the grand ultimate whatever, she has a complete flipout. She knew there were more than 7 children in that age division when they did their routines on stage (as she stood there with her daughter and the other contestants), but because it didn't go her way, she becomes an adult brat. I'm surprised at how reserved her child was when the mother (who should be her role model) behaves in this manner. I did competitions growing up and no matter what, my mother taught me to be happy with my win. If I didn't win anything, she would buy me a treat (nothing huge) and teach me that we can't always get what we want in life but she was still proud of me.
@Kat-mu8wq3 жыл бұрын
Exactly. I did some traditional dancing when I was younger (puberty ruined it of course 😂) but the few competitions I did I was more than happy with a certificate or small trophy. As with the horse compeitions I preferred doing the clear round jumping. If you got a clear round (not knocking any fences and your horse not stopping at fences) you got a rosette regardless how many entered. ..I did these ones mainly because my horses were always arseholes while out 😂 my first pony when I was 9 reared, the next I took when I was 14 was a hit or miss with fences, she also enjoyed doing handbrake turns when I least expected it causing me to fall on said wooden fences. Then there was the 3rd I took which wasn't even my horse 😂 she was a star. Even if I did take a detour during a jump-cross training class ..you were meant to go through the water and up the track on the hill, I went straight up the steep banking every time. 😂 My current horse is too young for any of that and shows no interest in jumping so we'll be sticking to low level dressage.. Even then I'm more than happy with whatever rosette he gets or if he gets a score higher than 64%

*"I don't judge a little girl on their figure, I look at the beauty of the child. Not at the shape of the child."* That judge has it right 👍 These little girl beauty pageants nowadays are only about sexualizing your children when that's not how it used to be and that's not how it's supposed to be. That's something that I really wish a lot of these moms would understand. I understand that not all pageants are like this, but most pageant, the judges are judging your child based off of their confidence/energy/enthusiasm/personality and excitement. And a smile like a really good genuinely happy smile is key. I was in pageants growing up and I always always placed either first or first runner up never second or anything less and guess what I never had the fancy dresses like the other girls I just had pretty sundresses my mom put little to no makeup on me I'm talking maybe a little mascara and some lip gloss at the most and that was it. I had naturally curly bleach blonde hair so my mom would just blow dry it with a round brush so that the curls would dry correctly and that was the extent of it. I was always happy and excited and it radiated off of me and that's the kind of thing the judges are looking for. Not the little girls that are so glammed out that they look like mini baby strippers and are so miserable and uncomfortable that you can see it all over their faces. It's sad what some parents put their kids through. It makes me sick man.

Mom taught her daughter that if you cry you can change an outcome. Not cool mom. Shian seemed pretty responsible in wanting to fix the fence so maybe in her wisdom she grew out crying for what she wants.

The mom: “putting a fence up woulda been just staring at money so I spent in on her dresses” (than proceeds to make daughter feel guilty that all their money is going towards her even though her mom is the one who’s responsible of money, and Shyanne never asked for this or 12 dresses, like girl she only needs one, spend your money wiser) Little girl that has 10x more sensibility than her mom : “I think we need a new gate because my dog, he always comes out those little holes” …like miss mam 🤦♀️ putting up a fence would very much serve a further purpose than just looking pretty

way too spoiled. this teaches your child that whenever they cry, they’ll get anything they want.

4:24 Damn girl it looks like it’s past her bedtime. Instead she’s crying in an alley because she didn’t get no acrylics. 🤦🏻♀️ Homegirl needs her sleep, she’s still growing. I’d rather spend my time with my child reading a book, exercising TOGETHER, baking, helping her with her homework than focusing on her looks and silly little dances. Cmon now, that fence needs to get fixed! 12K on some dresses that she’ll grow out in a year is ABSURD!!! 🙄

it depends on what time of year it is. In New Jersey the sun can set as early as 4:30. But I agree I would do something else with my kid.

I just can't understand putting out children like that. As for her performance that was not Diana Ross in song or talent ... It was more like Diana Rigby. Please don't do this to a child, it disturbing.

If I was going for a run or a workout & I had an overweight mom, yelling & waddling behind me the entire time, I would do everything possible to get away. Then, to give in to her baby-like temper-tantrum & get her those, “Tips” (whatever they are) despite the fact that the mom initially said, “No” because they could permanently damage her nail beds, was terrible parenting! That mother is creating a monster! 👿

The fact that she know she’s a crazy pageant mom and doesn’t strive to be better at keeping calm just makes me laugh so hard😂I feel so bad for her daughter bc she’s like “my mom had to go scream at the lady😅” I do pageants and if that was my mother I would DIE
