Great video!! Puzzle guts😂 I ordered mine, had to get one when you mentioned changing face types.

How many unique variants can you make with 1 and 0 faces on a dodecahedron?

According to A000545 on the OEIS there are 96 ways to color a dodecahedron with 2 colors.

Hi, interesting video, thanks for that! My question is: Hiw did you manage to make it turn so smooth, like in the beginning of this video? I have the milky version, I though it would turn smooth or at least a bit better, but it does not. Do you have any recommendation? Thanks in advance.

Well, truth be told, it turns well like that when you're just turning the one face. When you start doing a normal solve, it doesn't quite turn as well. I still haven't lubed it, because I'm seeing how much breaking it in might help first. But as I said in the video, I think one of the problems here is that you can't really tension it easily. I do have some silicon spray, though, so I think I will try applying some of that soon...

I did show the mech on the forum and sadly there is no quick easy swapping of the centers. I still need to make the tiles for my copy. I bought all the necessary colors to be able to make them just havent spent the time making them yet.

Which thread? I missed that. Who are you on the forum?

Could you just leave those caps out of the puzzle, the screws would always be visible, and, I know, you wouldn't have a center color, but maybe it would be worth it for the easier center change. :)

I don't think it would make it any easier (I did think of this already), because you would still need to remove the circle corners and circle edges, which means removing all the other pieces around them.

Is it not difficult enough already 😂

I hear ya! And I agree: I think it is already a relatively difficult puzzle. I feel like some on the TP forums are implying it's pretty straightforward. I didn't find that. However, now I've worked it out, it's ok. I think the trick will be finding variations of 0 and 1 faces which make really interesting puzzles.
