CRAZY Random Freak Storm Hits The Magic Kingdom

Some footage I captured when a sudden freak storm (microburst) hit Main Street U.S.A. in the Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World in July 2013.
This video was taken from the Chamber of Commerce building next door to City Hall - in the front of the park near the main entrance. The entire event only lasted less than a minute or so, but it was pretty intense.

NOAA gave it a storm ready rating which is not easy to get your at one of the safest places in the country in a storm at Disney World.

I am glad that everyone did the right thing before a wet microburst swept through Magic Kingdom 5 years ago by finding a nearby building to take shelter until the storm passes!

i was there that day i remember, my family was chosen to help test the magic bands before they became widespread, we had just gotten off the bus and were waiting for the rain to die down before leaving, we debated heading back to the hotel or run to the emporium on main street. it was so cold,, the microburst i remember knocking down construction walls at the bus area and i thought the plants hanging from the ceiling would blow away. that was intense

ian They close all out door rides and all water rides if lightning strikes within 10 miles of the park. And if you're at the water parks and lightning strikes within 10 miles they force you out of the park.
