CRAZY RIDGE in the JULIAN ALPS

In this first video after the total lockdown of the past two months, we're hiking to a fantastic ridge in the Julian Alps.
We started from the amazing plateau of Altopiano del Montasio towards Mt. Curtisons, and took 1h 30min of hiking with no track.
The ridgeline is crazy sharp, there's a 1000m+ vertical drop on the other side that really makes walking on the ridge REALLY SCARY!
I was so happy to be finally back in nature and enjoy some wilderness again. I was not super inspired to photograph, in fact the shot I came up with is definitely not one of my best.

La cresta dei Curtissons è spettacolare, ci sono passato un paio di anni fa quando sono stato sullo Zabus. Secondo me è uno dei posti migliori per osservare (e fotografare) l'altopiano in tutta la sua estensione. Hai beccato proprio una super giornata, purtroppo domenica non era molto bello...ma almeno non pioveva e mi sono fatto anche io un bel giretto dopo la clausura :D

Hi Bruno. A question or two for you. I note that you wear a lot of Arcterix ( bad spelling! ) clothing, do you get it free from them? Or do you have to buy it yourself? Great gear but mighty expensive!! . Secondly I think you must live not so far from Villach in Austria, but in italy. I have a good friend in Villach so have spent quite some time around that part of the world exploring the mountains there. I'm a big fan of Italian Julians fine mountains.

many ticks there in Italy? I remember living in the Rheintal, Switzerland, and while up in Alpstein scrambling up steep areas there would be a lot of ticks. Just curious about your region. well done again.

Depends on the area. In the mountains around my home (first mountains after flatland) there are A LOT of ticks. Here it's already too high, so there are very very few.

super nice hike! Never saw an ibex that close. But that's on my bucket list. I usually see them on the other side of the vally in really steap area. Which DJI Mavic are you using?

in this area it's very common, I hiked to this place some weeks later and I saw like 50 of them. they're not afraid of humans! Mavic 2 Pro :)
