Rule #1 (no tattoos) totally did not apply at Via Rail. An attendant in our crew, who was very competent and serious, had several visible tattoos, noserings and blue hair. I guess Canada is a little more progressive than other people, and we judge the value of an employee on their actual performance, not appearance ... 😉

Personally, after you have all the basics down, it's all about practice. Don't be shy to talk, even to yourself. Watch english movies or shows and repeat whatever they say :)

Mahirap yung last rule para sa mga kababaihan. Parang dami sumagi sa isip mo na " mag- FA muna ako bago ako magpakasal". At lalo na sa inisip ng kanilang love ones/partner/bf na suportahan nalang kung ano goal ng kababaihan at mag-aantay nalang pag-ready na sila. At thank you kay Ma'am Kath for this info ❤️😍

: The "must be single" rule, almost always apply to female applicants. I have been told, a newly hired female flight attendant who is married, is likely to get pregnant and in extension get grounded and receive benefits whilst grounded, might be seen as a operational/ scheduling liability by the hiring/ business stand point. * I attended a certain hiring engagement of an airline, where the females were asked to leave if they were married, or have children under the age of 4. ** As strict as this airline was, hiring managers would foresee, that at some point, they do not want a flight attendant calling in for an emergency, or, worse, no show, because of their child. *** Yes, it may seem unfair, especially to an applicant who will show, and is, and will be committed to the duties and responsibilities. Yet, we cannot blame these cabin managers/ hiring team, as most of them were cabin crew who made their way up the ladder, and have seen and heard all of these scenarios. A no show, or calling in sick/emergency costs the airline, or any other business, more to fill an absence. I think the key take away here is that, being up there is truly a COMMITMENT.

But mam i am about 159cm and have an arm of 212cms on tip toe. I have quite a fluent English and bmi weight is in range. But m really scared czz m 159cm. Since katulad po ng sabi nyo about the last rule... What if I'm already 45+ and not married, can I still continue as FA even if I'm already old or at that certain age?
