CRAZY surface bite! Australian Bass fishing

Finally had the time to head back down to my favourite spot. The bite was ok for a bit before I decided to tie on a surface lure and the bass went crazy for it.

Great spot mate i was there 3 weeks ago and caught a few nice bass, and the further upstream you go the fishing just gets better!

Awesome session man. I went down there and fished surface Sunday morning and the surface bite lasted until 1030 caught a bunch of bass it was insane. Such a great spot and all the bass were over 30 biggest was 42. Might see you down there one day.

Hey mate keen for bass season. When do reckon that stretch of river fires up? Thinking of heading there in 2 weeks not sure if it’s to early in the season though.

super keen aswell mate! In 2021/2022 i was starting to get the big ones just a week or two into September. A bit of rain also seems to trigger them to travel up stream. Goodluck! that early in the season they all seem to be big ones too!

goodluck! I had a go last weekend and no big ones seem to be up there yet. Got nothing untill i downsized to a double clutch 48mm lure. Still had a bit of fun and the little bass were very keen once I downsized.
