That white Afghan with the roses is crocheted in “Afghan stitch “. Which gives it the thick texture and sets up a grid. The roses are done by hand in counted cross stitch on top. I know how it’s done, but not how well it sells.

I think the open bottom snowman is so you can fill it with tiny light strings which would be adorable. Hope u picked it up. Also those pioneer woman mugs sell for about 25 dollars each. You should always check her stuff because the discontinued pieces can be worth big bucks. I have a 1940s murano hankchief vase and etched on the bottom was the artist and murano and Italia. Found out the artist is very famous and when I looked it up it's worth alot of money. It's not just plain. It has the beautiful lace and other murano features blown into the glass. Since I inherited it I won't be selling it but it was nice to know its history. You really have to look to see the etching on it. Have to be in the right angle and light. I didnt know it was there until I looked really closely. Its beautiful and much different from the one u found. How do u get that musty smell out of the box and other things?
@YvonThriftyRich3 жыл бұрын
I very seldom buy anything that has a horrible smell, once in a blue moon, and I have a variety of things to try that I’ve learned from others, it kind of depends on what the item is, what it’s made out of, sometimes putting things in the freezer works sometimes leaving things outside for a while works, ect

GW seems to be getting more new things that retail stores couldn’t sell….and the prices again are too high. I hope to give the bins a try soon. Salvation Army has also raised its prices although for cheap reading it is a score.
@YvonThriftyRich3 жыл бұрын
Not exactly Denise, there’s way more to the story than just resellers, people have been picking thrift stores since thrift stores started, way way way back back… this topic comes up all the time on somebody’s channel or somebody’s Facebook group, there’s just so much more to the whole system, and you can probably ask any higher up management At Goodwill and they will tell you resellers are very much a part of their business model, they need big sales to meet their non-publicized quotas and their goal is to make as much money as possible for the programs that they support, they could not do that if it was just very poor people spending a little bit of money to get what they need…. And actually there are programs in most thrift stores for truly indigent people to get vouchers for basic necessities…. Again there’s just so much more to unravel of the whole thrift store business but resellers are a very small piece of the puzzle of my prices are going up at the Goodwill
