@@stivanstoychev1026 Thanks! A compressor is such an obvious solution, dunno why I overlooked it. I have the distortion cranked, but didn't think of running a compressor. Will try using one and turning on a boost pedal perhaps.

More distortion yeah but also don’t just fret the strings normally with your left hand give them more of a powerful “flick”, as long as you don’t bend them out of tune

When you restring kinda lower the string placement just a bit so it makes a louder sound when you tap, same goes for bass
