Thank you for the mention! This actually makes me feel better about playing ...e5 as Black. And a good reminder to look more closely at the Berlin. In the old chess books that I learned from as a kid, the Morphy Defense was considered the only real option, but I think its very popularity made it hard to play well as the "book" moves go so deep into the variation, and the Berlin seems to be a better option. Of course, for the truly adventurous there's the Schliemann Defense (3. ... f5) which can lead to some crazy stuff. Chigorin won a spectacular game against someone named Paul de Schloezer in 1878 with it (it starts as a Latvian Gambit but transposes into the Schliemann and is over in 12 moves following a couple of sacrifices.

Magnus will start by pushing a pawn on the corner. This itself with throw the Ruy Lopez. Just prevent the knight & bishop from getting good position through prophylaxis.

The last position 15:58, queen to f6, looks like instead of knight c to d2 they would play bishop to g5 hitting queen and after queen moves maybe g6, support their bishop with Qd2. Otherwise I think I see the advantages of all the previous lines. Thanks for the video
