Thanks a lot. I sometimes just put some chords together to make my own backing tracks... to be able to solo over it. It's really fun to do this... and often results in some experimental tracks :) I am glad you liked this one here, I don't upload things regularly, but maybe I should do this more often :)

Where can I get this backing track
@VideosVonDennis3 жыл бұрын
I probably have the recording and project files somewhere on my HD. But it won't be easy to find it. I recorded several hundreds of backing for myself and I just sometimes pick one randomly and record a solo jam. I sometimes wondered if I should create a separate KZbin channels where I upload my backings because I really have a massive amount on my HD. But it would be another time consuming task... I am lazy, and busy with so much other things in life. Sorry. Can't help you at the moment.

hey man, amazing solo!!! hey is it fine if u can send me this exact jam track, dont know where to get, i also wanna jam on it....its pretty sick!
@VideosVonDennis3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Muhammad. I fear that I won't find the backing anymore. I have several hundred of recorded backing tracks that I all gave generic or gibberish names. Once in a while I open one of my own backings and solo over it, and if it turns out ok, I upload the solo. I always wondered if I should create a second channel where I upload my backing tracks, or maybe even do it here... I record way more backings than I do play solos over them lol... for whatever reason. Maybe it's just the fear of losing a chord progression idea or something. I would have helped you, but as it is now, it would probably take me several hours to find the backing and after that we wouldn't even know how to transfer such large file online. I'm sorry.

Hey! Danke!

Very nice, listened to a couple of times) what chords are behind?
@VideosVonDennis6 жыл бұрын
I had to research the first chord myself right now because I don't know all the names of the barre chords at the neck, since I usually just try chords out, and I also don't write my ideas down but rather record them. But I found out the first one is a B Minor. So, it goes B Minor (7th fret), A (5th fret) and then E (standard). The A is played in 5th fret barre (E shape).
@seekeyk6 жыл бұрын
Dennis X that's very interesting.. As far as I see you are soloing with Minor Pentatonic.. Isn't it?
@seekeyk6 жыл бұрын
Key of A?
@VideosVonDennis6 жыл бұрын
I have a hard time with music theory. In what key a song is, that's something I still don't get even if I watched tons of videos of people trying to explain it. I would have assumed this song here is in the key of B Minor because it starts with B Minor. But I learned it's not that easy :D Yeah I think it's Minor Pentatonic but also here I am not sure. I learned Pentatonics before I actually knew the word Pentatonic. I sat there as a child, listening to instrumentals and using my grandpa's Stratocaster trying to be a solo hero lol. It must have sounded awful, but at some point I discovered which strings sound good to which chords. Just a year ago is when I looked into theory and found out that I played Major and Minor Pentatonics all the years. I play by ear, this comes with advantages and disadvantages. I can come up with a song in a milisecond, I can solo over it in the next moment... the disadvantage is however that I can't communicate with others who make music as well, if they are into theory. :D It's like driving a car without a drivers licence :)
@seekeyk6 жыл бұрын
Dennis X that's so cool you can play without bothering the music theory details.. I also a self taught guitar player, but I found its very useful to understand the basics.. Looking forward for next videos)

Btw, for you have an expression pedal or its just Amplitube Wah in auto mode?
@VideosVonDennis6 жыл бұрын
I am in the market for an expression pedal, I want to buy one some day. I'd much prefer to create the wah with my food live in the moment I play. At the moment I have to edit it in. AmpliTube has an AutoWah, but I don't like the results. In this case I basically used a Wah-pedal in AmpliTube but edited Wah envelope in manually afterwards. Ironically I just wanted to use the Wah-pedal to get a squeaky kind of distrortion sound, not so much because of the Wah... so, when I tried moving that software pedal with my mouse, it was like "Yeah, sounds pretty interesting" and I went through the whole song adjusting the envelope to make it sound as if I used an expression pedal.
@seekeyk6 жыл бұрын
Dennis X ah.. Now I got it.. Do you record in Amplitube as well? Didn't know it's possible to apply Wah you already played it. I disliked auto Wah as well, therefore I got quite chip M-Audio expression pedal from Amazon (16 EUR).. And tried it yesterday. So far results are not that good.. I wanted to check other videos and search results brought me here)
@VideosVonDennis6 жыл бұрын
No, all the recording is done in Ableton Live, which also makes it possible to edit the Wah afterwards. That's possible because in the Amplitube VST you can assign most of the knobs to parameters that you then can reach within Ableton Live. From there you can then do all kind of fancy automations by creating your own envelope curves. In my case it's a bit tricky because I draw the envelopes with my mouse and re-listen if I am happy with it. It would be much easier with midi mixers, keyboards, or as you said expression pedals, if you assign this hardware to the parameters and just record the envelopes. But as said, it works with the mouse too. That's why I like DAW's like Ableton.. it's not just about tracks, but you can actually edit all parameters of VST's individually in each track. I barely do it, but in the case of the Wah-pedal, and without expression pedal, it made sense because I wanted to get that Wah sound. Yeah, I know what you mean, sometimes you can get good results with bargains. For example, all my songs are recorded with a cheap Behringer UCG102 interface... it somehow works. But I got some cheap things too that didn't impress me. Thanks for sharing your experience, I could have fallen in this trap as well, because I need one in the future too. I guess that's a piece of hardware where we might need to spend a bit more. Thanks for checking my channel out. Funny that this search term brought you here. Do you plan to upload guitar videos too?

I am looking forward for your uploads. Subscribed and you got a comment over there :) And I think you are already better than you think... You're trying to play chords and solo together, that's not beginner stuff anymore ;) And if you continue, you will improve further. The thing is, we never learn out. I don't consider myself to be a good guitar player even if some of my friends say that. We will always put the yardstrick higher. With guitars there is so much to discover, to learn :) Awesome that you enjoy playing the guitar too.
