In Germany we support the team so that they can equalise or take the lead. If our team is leading then we celebrate them. Thats why there is always a good atmosphere.

The crazy ultras always make me feel uneasy and anxious 😬. But you know Coventry City are our derby rivals 🦾🦊 ⚽️ but I really , really love the people of Coventry. I go there occasionally and the people there are always so lovely to me even when I am wearing my Leicester City jersey 😂 hahaha . I love the place . It is quite a peaceful place from my personal experience . I think they’re all amazing and friendly. Btw I love green Werder Bremen home kit. Rare colour . I only know Plymouth Argyle, Yeovil Town and Forest Green Rovers wear that colour in the English football league 💚
@RysFootyParadise3 ай бұрын
Green is a lot more common colour over there, but what a beautiful collection of kits they have this season 👏🏽 tempted on getting that Werder home. Coventry seem a good fan base don’t they. Lots of families and women I noticed, whether that’s because it was a friendly

Really interesting comparison between English and German fan cultures - they kept up a great atmosphere for the entire game so hats off to them for that. Bit strange that they didn't seem to react at all to scoring or conceding though. I also struggle to understand why that bloke with the megaphone at the front would travel all the way to England to stand with his back to the game for 90 minutes. Still, it was cool to see them at the CBS and they made more noise than the 3000 Everton fans that were here on Tuesday!
@ThisIsMalvin3 ай бұрын
They didn't react that much because it's a friendlies. On a proper match day they would go nuts for sure and then continue chanting even louder!

I reckon in a decade or so once the Ipswich, Palace, etc “ultras” grow up, other young lads will copy and before we know it, it’s something we’ll have to an extent in our game
@gardeningniceperson3 ай бұрын
@@ThisIsMalvin While it's different from club to club, the german football fan culture does not only revolve around the success of their team or the particular outcome of the game. The ultras are playing "their own game". The support is often flanked by other topics, sport-political statement concerning the state of modern (commercialized) football, political messages etc. It's really more than just football

The guys with the megaphones are called „Vorsänger“ in German and their job is to keep the crowd and chants organized so everyone is singing the same chant. Greetings from Bremen 💚🤍

If you want to see something almost unique in German football, go for a ticket for Schalke vs Nürnberg or Karlsruhe vs Hertha Berlin. There is a legendary friendship between the Ultras of this Teams, so this 2 matches have a different vibe, maybe some of the biggest football partys in the world. This season they compete in second Bundesliga. But it's really difficult to get tickets. These matches are sold out in minutes.

Been to Bremen several times. Great city to visit. The Ostcurve Ultras are mental. If you are going suggest you go towards to end of October as the the city holds the Bremer Freimarkt which is a kind of Northern Germany Oktoberfest.

As someone from the Bremen area, I am (jokingly) offended by that statement. Freimarkt is waaay older than Oktoberfest, thus the Oktoberfest is the Freimarkt of Southern Germany, not the other way around 😁
