Not sure if someone mentioned this already (there are 663 comments), but the "AP" on the clock means "Artist's Proof" -- you will see this more often on 2-D artwork, usually limited edition lithographs. The Artist's Proof is the first one produced and given to the artist for approval before additional copies are made. An AP item is typically far more valuable than the later copies.

The Italian plate that Dagney found with the fish on it came from a restaurant in Italy. A number of restaurants had them. If you ordered a particular meal at the restaurant, you would get to keep the plate. Each participating restaurant had it's own design. When I was in Rome in 1978 I got one of the plate from a different restaurant.

Here is a trick to get a pen working. Light a match and gentle expose the ink point to the flame. Only for a second or 2. Then while warm try the pen again gently until the ink flows. The flame burns off the dry ink allowing the ball to move and release the good ink. Do not do this with anything but ball point pens.
@bfar13 жыл бұрын
Heating the tip works, the heat expands the metal collar and the ink can flow.

I do this, but, somewhat differently. I go to thrift stores, flea markets, auctions, garage sales and salvage...but, I always end up keeping the things. I've got a large open floor studio/loft apartment. I NEED to start moving things. My place looks like a museum. It's all well put together, but, I want to start making some money while I do it, and rotate things in and out. Wish me luck, or give me advice...something! Lol

That yarn is called "roving" and yes, it is made that way for spinning. I have been spinning for years now, but you don't have to use a wheel, you can use a drop spindle. You can easily make one - there are videos on KZbin to show you how.

Good afternoon. I’ve been watching your channel and learning so much. I grew up among the southern mothers and grandmothers who had houses filled with Roseville, Fenton, 12 piece sets of china with all serving pieces, crystal and silver. We ate our main meal at a table that was always fully set for dinner. As a baby boomer it amazes me how much of my childhood is available in thrift and consignment stores. Our children are just not interested, yet! I still enjoy sitting at a table surrounded by beautiful things. So all this to say thank you for your posts. You should dip down south and visit some of the shops. It would be a ‘bring the Uhaul’ trip. 🤗 💛

You and Dagny just cleaned up the place today Joce. I couldn't believe the number of great things you were finding around every corner. That GW is fantastic. There at the last I was glad you even grabbed that doll. She had the cutest little face ever. It's all about the quality, and there was just something so sweet in the details of her face. My daughter has been a spinner, weaver, and knitter as well as a seller of fine hand painted wool yarns and roving's for many years. The huge ball Dagny found is called, "Roving." It is what spinners make from their wool fleece's preparatory to spinning it into yarn on their spinning wheels. Sadly, not many years ago, someone thought it would be a great idea to start a fad where you knit up the roving into afghans or blankets. This is a terrible idea because roving has not been spun, therefore it is not stable, will shed, mat, and become a red hot dirty mess in a very short time. It can not be washed in a machine, nor will it behave like properly spun wool. It is not something that should ever be called, "fat or large yarn", for it is not yarn but the unspun product, which is the precursor to yarn making. By the way Dagny got an amazing good deal on that roving too. If you want to see my daughter Yvonne's wonderful wool products here is her company link. www.lavendersheep.com/ She learned her skills of spinning and weaving as a young girl, from her grandmother, who was also a spinner and weaver. It so inspired her that she went to college and got a degree in art, with an emphasis one fiber arts. Went to Italy and studied with master weavers there, came home and started her own fiber business. To say I am proud of her would be an understatement. Check out her beautiful yarns and roving's, they are an inspiration to many a knitter and weaver.
