I think people miss the Goodwill videos because they can relate to them more, especially if they're new to reselling and don't have the kind of spending budget that you do. Antique malls and antique events have nice things to looks at, but I know I can't afford to shop them. Someday, though...hopefully.

And for me, the thrill of finding a few good treasures on the cheap in a thrift store setting is more exciting than trying to find an affordable item in an antique mall stuffed with thousands and thousands of expensive items. It's like trying to find a needle in a haystack. (Plus, I get discouraged when I find something I really like, but can't afford to buy it. 😪) That's just me, though.

I have watched her for 5-6 years now and i must say that goodwill was much better when she first started out.

Many antique stores now have cheaper prices than thrift stores. I do understand what you are saying because it used to be you could find lots of great deals at thrift stores. Right now many thrift stores are pricing according to eBay listed prices, they don’t even bother taking the extra step to look at solids. There are generally vendors in antique malls that bring in a lot of merchandise and they just want to move it quickly, they are not worried about top dollar I have a booth in an antique mall and I always sprinkle in gems people could flip for profit, the owner of the mall encourages resellers to come in and she wants other people to make money too. She does house clean outs and finds amazing vintage Christmas. Before Christmas she has a Christmas open house, you can get Holt Howard pieces that sell for hundreds for $20. Because I buy a lot from her she gives me amazing deals. But I understand people who used to find great deals at Goodwill really like the GW videos. While I don’t get a lot of deals from GW occasionally I’ll find a gem and that’s pretty fun

Sticky tape is best removed by soaking in warm water, rather than trying to peel it off, less change of damaging the paint.

This is totally off topic but I had to tell Jocelyn about a Ruggable rug that she needs. It is called the Birds of a Feather rug and has parrots, flamingos, etc. I saw it and said, "It's got a bird on it." I immediately thought of Crazy Lamp Lady.

We call abalone 'paua' in New Zealand. We can harvest them, but they have to be a certain size and there is a limit of how many you can get.

The Delft Blue Canal Houses…. Is a large series of the Amsterdam Houses in the Netherlands. BOLS is a liquor company in Holland. KLM gave these houses out during their flights to their first class passengers. They are highly collectible. What you picked up is still Delft Blue and are like a miniature house. They would be place in the large front windows around the country. The one you pickup is harder to find and are worth good money too.

Your information is correct. Only the KLM houses are tiny houses. This one is larger. More a souvenir piece with value. How much i dont know. The value here in the Netherlands is not high. Not that rare. Greetings from the Netherlands...

@@joriefifield1349…. When Jocelyn first picked it up she thought it was a BOLS bottle and as she turned it around saw that it was not. Delft Blue is the pottery. They have different style and sizes of Canal houses….. this is one of the larger ones, that people put on their window sills

Have your mom find bendyknee elves and bottle brush trees and do some little landscapes in the planters for the holidays. A mismatched ceramic village house is also doable. Tom Clark was huge in the 80s. A figure that size should be around the 40 to 60 dollar range. The chicken baskets are Chinese from the late 1970s and early 80s. They would have sold then for 45 and 65 respectively. They sold in better department stores such as Macy's.

Jocelyn, I have learned that shot glasses serve at least 2 functions; 1. shooting whiskey, tequila, etc or 2. collecting. With this some can be great valuable, well all can be valuable, but some just personal value, some in reselling value. It is a hit and miss, depending the market. If you are willing to gamble and in no rush for a sale then go for it. If not, leave it for someone else to pick up. I home this has helped you.

Ron Lee is a famous artist for his clowns, his figures can go for good money, just depends on the piece, I fussed a lot when you left that figure, I just needed to share this because I rarely know about something you leave behind lol

You found some good stuff from the Goodwill. Those chicken baskets would be good for one of your booths. That Santa figurine too. I thought that ram snuffer was pretty cool. Some people like to decorate with those. That deviled egg tray with the shakers would be great for entertaining especially with the holidays coming up.

Keep your eyes out for Ron Lee pieces. He does mostly clown sculptures and the ones with solid polished stones as the base are very expensive. I have paid several hundred for one piece

That wood drawer thing you couldn't open....most likely came from a VERY vintage sewing machine cabinet. Wow! A whole pile of Boyds figurines IN boxes on that bottom shelf. I've sold all but one of mine. Not huge moneymakers, but they do sell, as long as they're in their original box. Looks like someone got rid of a big Boyds figurines collection.
