The item at 2:50 is a fly swatter holder! My parents had one back in the 70's. It hangs on the wall and you put the handle in from the top & it slides down into it! The swatters had wood handles that matched the front of the holder ... ours was never used, just for decor!! Hadn't seen one in years!

You have no idea how good it makes me feel to see you pick up the cross stitch (needle point?) pieces. I’ll probably paint it, and it will be fine. I’m so glad to know that perhaps someone will want to buy it. I thought the same thing as you. @carolhearn81574 жыл бұрын
Judy, cross-stitch is a series of X stitches done on cross-stitch fabric of various types like hardanger cloth. The fabric has to be very evenly woven with fairly widely spaced threads, usually 10 - 14 threads per inch. Most cross stitch fabric does not have a pattern printed on it but instead has a separate paper pattern. "Embroidery" and specialized embroidery like "crewel" or "bargello" is usually done on fabric that is tighter woven like sheeting with a pattern printed on it.

I love love love all the cross stitch items! I thought I was the only one who loved it. I do not do it personally but me and my dad used to attend estate auctions before he passed. At one of these auctions is where I discovered my love of them. I have a few from just one auction that I wish I could show you because they are so beautiful and very very detailed and even shadowed as if they were paintings. 3 of them are framed nicely and professionally, approximately 5×7 in size, then 1 of them is approximately 10×13 or 11×14 and all of them are women or young ladies with 1800's style victorian dresses. Like I said, they are shaded and shadowed as if it were a painting instead of a cross stitch and obviously done by someone who was very talented and took a long time on them. I felt a little jealous that you kept finding them lol. I love them so much but I thought I was just a weinie for liking them as much as I do because no one I know or have shown them to feels my excitement over them. I decorated my spare bedroom with them hanging on my walls. Awesome find! And I love your videos!

The moon cross stitch clock is termed, “primitive” in design, (not age.) That’s the keyword you’ll want to use when listing. Primitive cross stitch designs are in high fashion right now. Enjoying the content! Also, that amount of the padded medallions give the vibe of being kits, maybe localized to an area. I bet you anything, you have the designers collection. You can tell by the finishing style of course but also by the repeated use of the same font. Those are mockups for craft fairs and such. I bet her husband cut the fun frames or something and she sold the patterns with the unfinished frames. The other pieces you found are probably the rest of her personal collection, all 80’s or 90’s, except for that moon clock. That one is very different from the others and may just be coincidence that it’s there. I’d be surprised if it was older than 2010, but I’m certainly no expert.😄

This was the first time I was, Oh No JE look! Where you picked up the duck trinket box, just below was an item that sells for $165.00 that I’ve wanted since I first saw it. Part of a four part collection. Silly me. What wonderful finds today! Nice going.
