Second hand stores are therapeutic. I think it's in the wild diversity of things. It captures the brain. Jocelyn has a general ASMR vibe. This shopping is a non-harmfull way to score. No one pays for your win. "The kick" also draws one in on several levels. Cash, cultural significance, joy and beauty. Jocelyn produces great light content. I often combine it with looking stuff up, vintage. As a European I don't find the American market very attractive. I'm looking for explicit (modern) design. Europeans throw better stuff away, and not as much. But Jocelyn has thought me how to weigh certain value. Small things. That communicates.

I love love love to see how you interact with Laurel. I work at a thrift store and I will tell you I see mother shopping all the time just for themselves not for their jobs not for their livelihoods, and they totally ignore their children. The kids are in the carts being ignored or running around the store being ignored. But you are constantly talking to and touching your baby and it is so beautiful to see.

Actually, the GDR officially existed until 1990 and the abbreviation was used until the very end. I visited the former GDR for the first time in 1994 and some shops still had GDR products on the shelves. 😄

FYI I used to rotate putting aside toys and bringing them out when we went shopping so they were “new again” to my babies and I didn’t have to grab a new toy to occupy them from grabbing at the store items. Giving them something from the store usually ended up drooly and I’ve have to buy it.

Dear Crazy Lamp Lady …. I’m the Crazy Hair Receiver Lady I’ve been collecting Hair Receivers since 1969 … I will admit to “several” hundred … but , we all know we tend to fudge the numbers in our collections … the true number may get me committed … the price of the hair receivers were always just out of my budget making each and every one special because I had to save and dream before I could purchase … now , when I can afford the hair receivers the value has plummeted … I Never collected or purchased for resell … just a crazy collector who enjoys hair receivers … I think I enjoyed this peculiar item because so many had never heard of a H.R. and I got to educate others and share information … like so many other treasures interest and desirability changes over time … thanks CLL from CHRL
