"Udel'niy rynok" is a gigantic FLEA market in Saint Petersburg, Russia. You can find a lot of Soviet stuff there and even before Soviet stuff there. This market was ranked as the second BEST flea market in the World by the Forbes magazine and was recomended to visit for foreigners by The Guardian British newspaper!

Do people walk around with Starbucks to-go cups of coffee like they do here in America when they go looking for antiques and collectors items.

haha. no! It's really very American thing. Some yongsters (hipsters?) though nowadays like to walk in the center with some coffee in their hands, but just for a slow walk. You can see them rarely. We don't have that like in American subway many people stay with BIG cups of coffee.

That's the saddest flea market I've ever seen. Anyhow, I sent you a few dollars through paypal for food so you can have energy and creativity, as you put it. Ha! You have a good sense of humor, Sergey, which is so important to have, especially in shitty times and situations. We have to laugh at the world and at ourselves to survive and not go crazy. Cheers!

I sell at an outdoor flea market here in New Jersey, weather-permitting. They will not allow us to sell outside in the snow, however, in case someone should slip and fall and get hurt. It looks so very cold out there in the snow! Brrr 🥶! I would love to shop there, though! Saw a few items I liked 😉 Thanks for sharing.

cool! I will visit American flea markets when I go there. It's much more interesting for me than going to some cinema for example! But yeah, in Russia the whether is kinda tough ALL the time that if we had this rules - they would never sell.

I liked this video a lot, because I've spent many hours, of shopping in markets just like this. I'm an American tourist, and I go to Kiev, and Moscow, every summer. I have one of those gas masks, I bought from a Russian man, in Kiev, for only $10. ! I can't find any thing like it, in this country, for under $50. Also, I need a new pair of reading glasses, but have been telling myself, to wait till next summer. The prices are now cheaper for things in Russia, than in Kiev, and Ukraine. I always bring back a suitcase full of souvenirs. The flea markets are also, bigger and busier, with more things to buy, in the summer. Last summer, I brought back, 5 liters of honey, and many other types of bee products. One thing I noticed about this flea market, was that there were hardly any food or beverage stands. At least in Kiev, in the winter, they are all over. But the merchandise is similar between the two countries. And you never know, what interesting thing you can find.

Wow! This is a great video. It looks like it lives up to the name of the Second Best Flea Market in the world. It looks like it is all good quality stuff. I have been to some flea markets in the US and a lot of the stuff is cheap import knockoff stuff. Also, there is nothing wrong with second hand stuff. It serves its purpose. It should never be embarrassing especially if it child's clothes that they will grow out of pretty quickly. This is a great video and the details you give are great and gives you an idea of what it would be like to visit, even if someone watching is on the other side of the world. Is there street food in this type of flea markets? What is the street food scene in St. Petersburg in general?
