Unc.... I am going to piss off 1/2 of the population. The reason the do this is because of stupid fucking women buyers. At Clemson, a ticket is $100/game but the IPTAY Seat Fee is $800/year (for 7 games). Idiot people think that the face value is the price. It's NOT the dang price.

See that’s the problem. Just like with these online sports games the gaming companies know there will always be people out there willing to spend any and everything for their favorite team, so they’ve continuously gotten to be more and more greedy every year with the micro transactions and other season pass bs. It’s the same for real life sports as well. People might bitch and complain about it but in the end they’ll still be the ones forking out the money and supporting these greedy business tactics 🤷🏻‍♂️

This is part of a broader trend playing out in many areas of the economy. When you pay a bill online, for instance, more and more companies tack on "convenience fees" or "processing fees" for using a credit card instead of mailing a check. They never explain why suddenly, after decades of everyone making online purchases, there's now a need to start feeing us to death for every little thing. They're clearly getting people used to the idea of paying extra "fees" (i.e. private taxes) for everything to cover up basic greed.

Not an Arkansas fan, but i saw a local news article about the UofA asking Arkansas households to pay $100 month to be "competitive in the NIL area." Keep in mind, if it wasnt for the NWA (which is where i live), Arkansas would be the poorest state in America. And asking an already struggling family to pay a $100 a month just to be "competitive" is lunacy. How about not hiring a coaching staff that completely dookies the bed in the second half and goes for it for no reason?

NY times: "Why is Tennessee doing this? Athletic departments are trying to prepare to meet the rising costs coming their way, and some athletic directors have issued public warnings that the process may include cutting sports or otherwise trimming department expenses. Meanwhile, the wealthiest programs are searching for more revenue rather than cutting significantly from their budgets, and Tennessee may not be the last such program to try to openly pass the cost along to fans.". AS you start winning more in other sports, you still have to pay those other elite recruits if and when they come, for Baseball, basketball and other sports. Some of the less rich programs will have to cut some other sports out. TN is doing this in short so they can get ahead of it and have the money to pay the talent when revenue sharing starts next year with student athletes. This is a way to get ahead of that and avoid cutting any sports, while staying on NIL deal par with money for this talent. Remember when they said you will have a group of rich programs and than everyone else below as far as size and NIL advantage, well, TN is wants to be one of them. UGA, Bama and many others will follow.

When they start screwing the fans, You'll see the fan bases start to drop off. People won't put up with that much crap.

Yes they will because the average person is a complete and total idiot. Try and get them to boycott games, lol. NEVER HAPPEN. People are dopes. Except me. I wouldn't pay more than $10.00 for a ticket to any sports event and the parking better be free.

They have been screwing the fans for year and there has been no revolt. The average person is STUPID. Try and get a nationwide boycott going for everyone to stay home on game day until ticket and parking prices come down. Never happen.

You took the words right out of my mouth. This is so much b's. I know can't afford a ticket. But we are supposed to pay millionaire athletes more money because the boosters don't want to pony up for this craziness. And you are right, it is across the board. They have 0 respect for the fans, we are nothing but slaves for the system. F em

Tennessee is the trial ballon for this idea. Every school in the country will be doing this next year when it's announced how much money they are bringing in. lol

The really high ticket prices are on the secondary market anyway. So the school is just getting closer to market value. As far as money $20-25+ million a year for coaching staff Travel expenses Team cafeteria Facilities upgrades Women's sports and men's sports other than basketball

For most universities, football subsidizes ALL sports, and the expenses associated with them. They're being transparent w/ why ticket costs will be going up.
