Thanks for pointing me to the video. Nice audio but a little low on power yes. I think I’ll go for the 9900. Its has some extra power there, but I will do my best to keep it to 12watts. It can be fine set to 12watts I take it? As soon as the lockdown is over I will also be completing my foundation course. Any good DX group to join you can recommend. We go to Twinwood Festival ever year but I recon its going to get cancelled due to the virus. Thanks so much for all the help and hope to catch you hill to hill sometime in the future. I’ll be out regular now I’ve retired early when THEY let us out! Warm Wishes Bob - KB312

Hi Bob is that twinwoods in bedford?? If it is I was just up the road when I made that video. The 9900 is a superb rig, my mate was using an 8900 in the vid about 30w. My 9900 does 75 on SSB. Do not apologise for asking that's what I'm here for.

Nice comparison Steve. I could hear the drift on the 3900 The 8900 was spot on. I have a CRT 3900 EFT with the same drift issues. We all know these rigs need a warm up period. However this one is still at it after 30 to 40 minutes . Its mint warranty seals never broken. Now I have the information, and test gear . Its gonna get a full re-alignment..

Hi Nifty i think the drift you hear is me adjusting the clarifier. Some rigs do go through a bit of a warm up, sounds like your EFT IS in need of attention. Let me know if you get it stable fella.

Aren’t they the same Anytone 5555 radios under the hood? 🤔
@CBRadiouk15 жыл бұрын
I have both now and power tested them both, into a Dummy load. Mt 9900 does 75 w on ssb. The Anytone does exactly what it says on the box. 60w ssb.

great video the thing with modulation [audio] is so easy to get it over modulation and its just get right and then a little more and its to much it has the opp affect but yes the cre8900 sounded great but with a good power mic on the ss3900 they will sound good and as good as the cre8900 but you must turn the mic gain down if not it will sound awful but the Rodger beeps sound ok its me I like it at the end of every over take care have a great day steve its to get hotter and then to go to thunder and lightening so watch your antennas best regards Stephen 26CT526,

The 3900 in the vid does 5w ish AM/FM. 12w SSB. I think the 8900 did around 30w SSB. And I think 20 ish on AM/FM.

@@indiana146 Good choice the 9900 is my go to rig. So many people go for the 6900n. The 6900n is a good rig, but for noobs, can be a nightmare. You will love your new rig, good man.
