FYI left and right z axis sides do matter. If you put them on backwards, power facing the front the bed is off by about 2 inches.

I used this video for about 90% of assembly and the instruction manual about 10%. This is my first 3D printer. I am writing this the day after assembly. It took me about 4 hours from building to starting my first print which was a perfect print btw. My Ender 5 plus mini SD did come with 3 designs. I picked a design from Thingiverse and used the Creality slicer included on the mini SD. I used your heat settings and it worked great. The only issue I had was leveling the bed using "check level". Messed around with this for about 45min. I aborted that and used "AUX Level" This took about 30 minutes following your instructions and my first prints are working awesome! My only silly issue during assembly was during assembly with the cables. I only had the connectors labled "E" left over, It took me a minute to realize they plugged in to the Extruder lol, which isn't in the written instructions. Rookie mistake lol. I love this printer so far and it works great without any upgrades except I used inland PLA filament. I will do your upgrade suggestions soon. Great job on this video and your suggestions. Thank you much!

I assembled my Ender 5 Plus yesterday and these are a couple tips for the issues I ran into so far: While you have the top off of the printer, push the X gantry all the way toward the back and ensure that the Y limit switch is actually engaging. It should click. Mine was out of adjustment and the wheels would hit before the switch could engage. I was able to fix it by removing the Y limit switch and reattaching it by putting the screw through the elongated hole at the end farthest from the switch. If that's not enough, you could probably make the hole even longer. I didn't run into this issue until the printer was fully assembled. It may be easier to fix before the top is attached. You may want to have an M4 0.7 pitch tap handy. Some of the holes used to mount the bed to the Z-axis were difficult to get started. I think they were probably filled in some during finishing or something. Using a counter sink or a big enough drill bit could possibly clean the hole opening. One screw wouldn't go in all the way so I'm waiting on my taps. I didn't have any handy. I hope this helps another 3d printer noob like me.

12:08 Don't screw attach the bed yet.. connect it and lay it edgewise into the slot beside power supply. Manually twist the z-screws to drive both the carriers up against the upper stops. Once all cables (especially z motors) are connected, power up the controller and use the Settings / Move / Z to lower the bed mounts, under controller command, a couple of inches, then screw attach the bed plate rails to the z-carriers. This way, both the z-screws are always assured to be in sync, and both sides bed are equivalent height. 13:53, yeah, you can mount filament spindle pointing in or out, but the spindle releases from the back lock ring with 1/4 turn, easy to remove spool with bed hear spool spindle.

I have never touched a 3D printer before today. I am a laser file designer/teacher and sign maker so this is totally new to me, but because I am an all around crafter and a few of my friends have 3D printers, I had to get one to try out. Plus I like the idea of printing my own laser pins and some parts. This video was truly fantastic. Great job on this!!!

I picked up an 'open box'/returned Ender 5 Plus, and it didn't come with the instruction guide. I watched two other assembly videos before this, and yours was the one that was the most helpful. Specifically, thank you for calling out which screw goes where! My printer was missing about a dozen screws between the M5s, and it was helpful to know how many I needed. Also, you have a great conversational tone. I would say that you achieved your goal of making me feel like we were hanging out, working on this. Excellent video!

Nice video. :) First thing i wonder is if you still recomend this printer today? The development in hobby 3D-printers is quit rapid. second, how does this printer handle Z-hop? Is it recomended to not use Z-hop on this printer due to the high mass of the Z-axis and were. Third, why don't you use the feeler gauge to level you bed? It should be much more accurat than a random sitcky note.. Edit: With the amazing glas bed from Creality, you never want to let the bed cool during print. When the bed hits room temp the print will loosen. Only other thing to remember with this bed is to wash it with alcohol every now and then. Then the print will stick like crasy as long as you print, and loosen when cooled down.

Hey brother. Thank you so much for your work on this video! I found this video and saved it a few weeks ago. We've had a Flashforge Creator Pro for over 5 years now, but we grew tired of having to print small pieces and glue them together. Especially when it comes to cosplay prints and other items. We want to print most things in one shot (like the Mando helmet I had to print in 6 pieces on the Creator Pro). So, we ordered an Ender 5 Plus, and it came this week. Today, I started building it right along with your video. It was great to have somebody with experience taking me through this build. I took all of your advice to heart and implemented every small help and detail. Our Ender 5 Plus is printing it's first test print as I type this message. It looks awesome!!! You have a new fan, I've subscribed, and will be watching your other videos too. Thank you for this video. What a great help!

Just built mine, so poorly made, the holes at the top for the brackets are way too small for the m5 bolts, instructions say to set voltage to 115 but there's not switch with the new PSUs, I verified by removing bolts from rusted out holes, that's right brand new, and there was rust. Waiting for creality support to tell me to do my own drilling of the holes instead of bothering to send replacement beams or tell me to return it to the vendor who won't take back open boxes.

Brother, I am thoroughly impressed by you, so much so that now I feel like a lesser human being :) You have impeccable command over the language, supreme confidence, enormous subject knowledge, attention to every minute detail, and above all pure passion. May God bless you. Just today I assembled my Ender 5 plus and now wish I had seen this video ahead of time. You covered every possible issue that could arise and how to overcome it. I would surely watch your other videos as well. Looking forward to benefitting from your expertise in 3D printing. As pointed out by you the thick tubing for cable management is a nuisance and obstructs the free movement of the print head. Maybe after a few days, I would grow the courage to remove it, as my printer grows older :) As pointed out in Jim Berg comment below, the Y-limit switch could be out of adjustment and may not engage in the first run. Unfortunately, one only realizes it when the print head hits the frame with heart-wrenching noises. Also not having that mentioned 0.2 mm gauge in the tool kit was a disappointment, not sure where to order it from. However, this Ender 5 plus is a top-notch printer. Many thanks to Creality for making this beast for the 'prosumer'. It is surely not a newbie printer, thus a person just starting out 3D printing should consider a basic model first to become more hands-on. Unlike Ender 3 Ver 2, this one is noisy and would do well with a silent motherboard upgrade. I have started my journey of 3D printing a month back with Ender 3 ver2 as I wanted to design apparatus for learning Numeracy (fluency with basic Math calculations). In a short span, I have already got good success in my ambitious project using Tinkercad. Now my 5 year old son is enjoying learning Mathematics. Shahryar Badar Khan, Glad2teach

Very Nice Video! (all this hanging out is making me restless). And great timing, I just got my Ender 5 plus, yesterday. I went with the 5 + because of the bed stability and then the size was a nice plus too. I do wish they had a PRO version with the silent MB and other mild upgrades - but I am nothing if not a fixer-upper (Moder). I have plans to install a 600 Watt PS for reliability, a direct drive filament feeder and new POM Z axis nuts with the 2 ReliaBot - Tr8x2 Lead Screws (Acme Thread, 2mm Pitch, 1 Start, 2mm Lead) to improve accuracy. By the time I get done, I am sure I’ll find something else to tinker with. Thanks for all your enthusiasm and help! EDIT: Oh, and of course I liked and subscribed! (You earned that!)

Great vid man! Just ordered an Ender 5 plus can’t wait to get it. Upgrading from and Ender 3 pro for bigger prints. I have a Longer LK4 printer also and it prints beautifully but it has this terrible vibrating/grinding noise that I just can’t get rid of.. no idea what’s causing it. I’ve tried everything to fix it, but while it prints its incredibly loud. Nothing is loose, or over tight, I’m at a loss with it and I barely use it anymore. Which is a shame cause the thing has amazing print quality.

Thanks, I've had my Ender 5 + for about 3 weeks and I printed successfully a 32 hr print. I started printing a 49.5 hr print and I had a Thermal Runaway failure after the 34 hr mark. When recycle the printer and resumed the print it went through the motions but no filament was extruded, however, the bed kept moving. So the print failed. I did a test as you did (35:12) and the same thing happened as before it pulls the filament then lets it drop back into position without any extrusion (I marked the filament with a sharpie). Any ideas, nothing on the forums. Thanks

Quick question why if you have auto bed leveling and the proper z offset would you need to move the bed as it primes? That completely negates the ABL you just had the printer do. (Around 34:41). Earlier in the video you had the printer ABL then you adjusted the table in each corner, again negating what you just had the ABL do.

I'm glad I found this, got mine last week. Build was easy but I have to auto level each time then fine tune with the bottom wheels. Is this normal? If I print one thing and everything is perfect, finish that print and start a new print, I still have to mess with the manual adjustments. Generally the bed is too low on the second print and just prints a round thread the doesn't stick to the plate. Got any videos on that? Sucks dialing it in everytime manually. I know I missing some step, just don't know which on. Ender 5 Plus.

Hi Franky great video. This is my first 3D printer. Too awhile to get 'Z' axis right. First print ok. For some reason my bed temperature dropped i the middle of printing? Any idea how to fix that? Thanks

Watched this video start to finish and was more than ready when my Ender 5 Plus arrived today. It was a flawless assembly. However... I am having serious issues now. I tried a print at default settings (bed - 50 degrees, nozzle - 200 degrees) and the filament was having a very hard time coming out of the nozzle, and I just got a small stringy mess. After several tries I figured the temp might be too low so I raised it to 60/210. It had the exact same issue, so I stopped the print. After about 10 seconds, the thing just DIED on me! Completely dead! Won't turn on AT ALL!! No display, nothing! I can't tell you how PO'd I am about this because I have been researching printers for months to avoid exactly this! If anyone can offer any advice it would be greatly appreciated, but I think this thing is toast.

@@mafiahalo93 Thanks for the response. I also had the universal power supply, as I had a metal plate where the switch would have been. Anyway, I returned the bad printer and just now finished assembling the new one. Now I have a different problem. I have a cable labeled "m" left over with no mention of it in the guide whatsoever. I could have sworn I had the same issue last time and just plugged in all the other cables then figured out where it's supposed to go by process of elimination. This time I have checked several times and can't figure it out for the life of me. The assembly guide has some pretty pictures, but parts of it really suck. Edit to add: I found it! Goes to the extruder.

Nice video. It was long but I like how you walked us through it. Very informative too. I subscribed and looking forward to what you do with this Ender 5 Plus in the future.

Just bought and opened the 5Plus. As I slide the gantry and arm in the X-Y directions there seems to be a physical hitch, small but noticeable every 3 inches or so, like a speed bump type thing. No noise. If you can envision a table leaf where it meets the table and you run your fingers over the meeting point. Not quite smooth as you feel the gap. Since it is one piece there shouldn’t be a gap or hitch so I was wondering if this is normal and what purpose it serves.

It is a great printer. However the manual is a bit woozy sometimes...like the 4x 8m25...which it says: get the 4, tighten all 6...but there are .....8. :D
