Hello Vlad. My new ender 5 s1 had the same problem. However, it is not necessary to turn the nut. The problem is caused by the spring being mounted too tight. If you turn the top nut up 1 turn, the problem is solved. Turn the platter up by hand until the top nut comes loose, then turn the platter down 1 turn and then reattach the nut. If you put the nuts under the platform, the platform will lower automatically when the Z motor is switched off, the nuts plus spring in the original position prevent this.

Same 'first few layers issue' here! Took me forever to identify the cause & fix it. Flipping the anti-backlash nut didn't do anything for me; there's another problem causing the same issue: Mine had unwanted fibrous residue from the packaging material stuck inside of the Z-Axis linear bearings. If you listen carefully, you'll likely hear a crunching noise coming from those bearings and when you roll around the very top of the Z-Axis you'll find a spot where there is way more friction than anywhere else along the rails. To get it out, I lubricated the Z-Axis linear rails, slid the bearings (and print bed) up and down a dozen or so times, rinsed with alcohol and repeated the steps another 3 times. After the final lubrication, and my initial layers are printing perfectly! Hope this works for you

Great video and great instruction putting the unit together. Well I have received my Ender 5 S1 and printing the test prints and I didn't get this "phenomon" when printing. I only having issues at first slicing from Cura 5.1.2. So I did install the Creality Slicer and my prints are printing very well. But I am going to continue to play around with the Cura settings so that I can 3D print from Cura.

I am entirely new to 3D printing but really keen to finally get onto the bandwagon. Got loads of practical things I want to do and it should come in real handy.

I have the same printer and issues regarding the Z height problem. I flipped the anti-backlash nut, and that solved the issue. Mine shipped with the spring pointing up. Perhaps as the bed is going to start printing, the spring is under more tension as it is being pushed up. When initially printing that tension could be changing until it moves far enough down. I dont know... It is working for me... Also, I found my Z height was roughly 19.7 for the cubes, and now its dead on.

@@TinderSwindler_ Its the part that is connected to the threaded rod. The rod spins and moves the bed up and down. Attached to the bed is a spring and nut. I removed the threaded rod completely, and removed the 2 screws that hold the spring and nut to the bed. I then installed everything back together, except put the nut and spring on the bottom of the bed. Hope that help. Good Luck

What is the point going down to get Z home? There is a CR Touch for Z homing, why not use that? With this homing method, it is slow and not easy to replace sheets with different thickness. Probably there is a reason, but I don't know what.

Hotend assembly is basically a bad cloned copy of EVA carriage platform which is already here some Friday. There is nothing unique about it. Another thing that amazes me is how Creality still can't solve and organize the xy cables. 2 cheap plastic cable chain solve this. It's absurd to have it in 2022 like this because you're asking for a later problems. Bed assembly is really bad nothing has changed. I honestly don't know who is the target group for that printer, expected something better compared to the old 5 series models....your video editing is getting better every day. Keep it up...

Kind of annoyed they went with v-slot rollers instead of linear rails for a 2022 printer and STILL a cantilever bed. The motors are still 80 step instead of 160 step motors. Time and time again Creality shows that they only care about quantity over quality. What a piss poor job for a 2022 printer. A lot of ghosting can be easily solved with LDO motors.
