Prim is my fav decor, it has been for years...its actually the reason I even started crafting bc Prim is SO expensive! BUT, its also so hard to find tutorials on the really good stuff, lol! Ive figured out a lot out here and there on my own and mixing tutorials for reg stuff, and finding older blogs for prim, but a lot of the ones I used to use are so old the domain was no longer kept up with and they are now gone too, lol! Ugh! There are so very few true PRIMITIVE style YT DIYers, so thank you so much for still uploading here and sharing your knowledge!

These candles are amazing Donna! I absolutely love them! Never thought of using coffee grinds. I wonder how they would look using hot glue dripping from the top and then painting over it to give it that dripped wax look. I bought these tapers a few months ago and wasn't sure what to do with them and after seeing your video I just have to give this a whirl. Yes, these are kinda expensive in the specially shops. I had bought one awhile ago that was in a Mason jar filled with Christmas foliage and have to agree... it wasn't cheap. Great idea and great job! And those rustic looking star lights just adds to the rustic magic. Lovely!! ❤🎄🕯❤

Thanks so much Adrienne!! Also, I do mine a little different...you might find it easier, I dont know because mine are REALLLYYYYY prim, lol! I honestly just crush up Maxwell House instant coffee on a plate and mix it with cinnamon..you can also leave the coffee grinds lumpy, too, or do an inbetween! Its really personal preference. Then I literally paint my battery op candle with matte mod podge and then roll it in my coffee/cinn mixture and I keep doing that until its covered. Then I will go over it again. Once it dry, I will then seal it, BUT I don't cover every inch with the mod podge, I basically 'dry brush' it on. And let it dry really good. Its really primitive and I love it. I do tea lights, I do pillars, whatever type of candle...just make sure you dont glue the battery door shut, lol! Hope this helps...Lol, Im late to the party I hope you see this comment! This was one of the first things I learned and have just learned what mix I like better and that I didnt need the paint, because I used to paint it too, but you dont need to bc you can cover the entire thing and itll be brown naturally!
@Em22-wtf4 жыл бұрын
This is what I get for commenting before the video ends, LOL! YOu can also use the same technique I use on the stars ;)
@creartivebynature4 жыл бұрын
Ya I have seen that technique, forgot to mention it in the video. I wanted to try something that hadn't been done before (from what I have researched) and less messy? (thought the cinnamon powder could be a bother, but not sure since I haven't tried 😉) I was also going for a certain look. But that's what's great about crafting, it can be done in so many unique and beautiful ways. Thanks for sharing your technique 🤗 Have a great week 💖😃🎄
