I have made several,different sized trees using the pinecone petals. We only have loblolly pines here in East Texas but I love foraging around our 10 acres. I also made a " log cabin" village using twigs,branches and small cardboard boxes. I used the pinecone petals for the roof shingles. Love my pinecone crafting. Oh,and I make all my cones out of whatever cardboard I have around ( empty cereal boxes,etc ) because I am ocd about recycling instead of trashing. Lol ! Love all your projects ! ❤🎄🦌🎅☃️❄️

Oh, I love your ideas!! Sounds beautiful 🤗 I haven't heard of that type of tree, I will look it up!! I'm in BC Canada. We have so many different types of trees that produce different cones. I'm truly grateful 😊 Thanks so much for watching and sharing with me. Have a wonderful weekend 💖 🤗

I think we have loblolly pines here in central AR. For gifts last year, I put a pinecone upside down in a large wine glass with fake snow. I glued a small mirror or wooden tumbling tower block coaster to the rim. Then, I flipped it over, added a ribbon, more snow, etc., and a candle on top (of the foot of the glass that is now the top).

Somehow, I have 8 glass pie pans. I loved what you did in the Pampered Chef one. I can paint mine and use them for gifts. I love the dehydrated orange and apple slices with cinnamon. Add a few cloves and star anise and it becomes a pretty bowl of potpouri. Great idea!

Love them all! For the wreath with the tartan house - to avoid trying to hide the light's wires, can put the lights at the back and just pull the actual lights through to the front (a crochet hook works well) and all the wire is hidden!

Donna, all of these are so beautiful and fun. I’m going to make pine cone trees and the little wreath. I’m so grateful for the tip on arranging the evergreens. That will be helpful. I used pine cone scales as roofing shingles on a balsa wood birdhouse to make a house for a Christmas village. I love watching your channel.

I love it all! My house is surrounded by woods and lots of places to forage for goodies. 30 years ago when we first moved into our home, we didn't have much for decorations. I remember going into the woods, and cutting pine tree branches and picking up pinecones to decorate the house with. My oldest son was only 5 years old and he had so much fun helping me gather goodies.😂 This is totally my style!😁

I'm loving your videos. I too love nature and years back I made a Christmas tree using my large pine cones foraged from my yard. Once the cones were shaped into a tree shape I added small decorations and lights. It really was pretty. I also gathered small twigs/limbs and tied a beautiful Christmas bow around them, hung on the wall. Oh you have my creative juices flowing...lol. TFS😊

My small guest bathroom's shower curtain fabric has birds and twigs, so that will be an ideal room to duplicate some of your marvelous ideas. The humidity from the shower may even help to keep natural elements from drying out too quickly. (I have a cedar tree and plan to clip a few fresh branches. I also have lichen-covered twigs that fell in a storm.) I have foraged many large pinecones. Thanks for the many ideas. I knew this would be a great video!
@creartivebynature2 ай бұрын
Love it all Mary Ellen!! Just be careful with the branch, it could potentially release spores due to the humidity. Try drying it out in the oven to kill any spores.

These natural ornaments are my favorite kind of ornament, (other than my collection of vintage dioramas). Even those I only buy the ones with natural scenes inside. Evergreen sprigs, pine cones, poinsettia, etc. Nothing anthropomorphic.

Do you clean the pine cones in a certain way? Water, soap, bleach, oven?
@creartivebynature2 ай бұрын
Great question!! Here's a video that I recently did where I share all about foraging for Pine Cones!! kzbin.info/www/bejne/pobQmKNse9WmadU But to quickly answer you, i personlly just set them out to dry in a box, usually in the sun. I have done it this way for YEARS, even as a kid. I have dried them in the oven, but that's because I get inpatient and don't want them to air dry. Honestly though, if you're in doubt, then wash and dry in oven. I can't promise that air drying them will elimante any issues you may have. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching. Take care 🤗💖

I'm wondering if you have any crafts for Incense Cedar pinecones? I have bags of them but can't find any crafts to make with them.
@creartivebynatureАй бұрын
Oh, I have never heard of those before. I don't have them here where I live. Maybe try using them as a decorative element like you would when adding berries or florals. You could glue dome together to create clusters to use in garlands or wreaths. Or try covering an entire foam cone with them to create a tree. Maybe covering a foam ball to create an ornament. I would paint the white foam with brown paint so you can't see the white. I hope this helps. It's hard to say since I have never used them before. Thanks so much for watching. Happy crafting 💖
