I'm seeing a lot of similar comments -- If you already know how to use a 3D program, then please skip this video. You'll get a much better quality rendering from a 3D program if you understand the interface, lighting & rendering settings. Adobe Dimension is a simpler interface to use and consistent with its series of Illustrator and Photoshop programs versus having to learn a new 3D interface and shortcuts. This video is for designers who are unfamiliar with 3D software and looking for a tool to mock up scenes and graphic design.

I used to mockup a lot of bottles boxes etc. simply importing works from ai to ps as smart layer and then warping to place is way faster workflow if u dont want to mess 3D programs. But please just use a dedicated 3D software if when u want mess with 3d, its just less painfull and less time consuming. Just give your self a week for learning blender its free and looks complicated but actually pretty easy. You can thank me later.

This is so cool! Do you have any knowledge on how to create liquid inside the bottle, so that it can also be changed in dimension too?
@ashleycam3ron4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I think the liquid depends on the shape of the container and fill level for how flexible it is to resize. At 16:36 where I created the liquid, if I didn't make the neck shape in the liquid and if it were just a cylinder, you could select the liquid layer in dimension and change the height. At this point I'm not thinking of another way. I'm continuing to learn and explore what's possible. They seem to be working on updates and new functionality, too.

Hello! Yes
@olfactiveartistry39734 жыл бұрын
@@ashleycam3ron Thanks! So, I have made a rectangular graphic(height 43mm, width 190 mm) on Illustrator. It is meant to be a label for a cube shaped bottle in dimensions. I have selected the cube on the objects list in dimensions. Now I have added the graphic from illustrator as a PNG file, onto the cube. I was changing the scale of it so that it wraps around the 4 sides of the cube, not on top or bottom sides. this is where the problem occurs, I am only able to stretch the graphic as far as 2 sides of the cube, not four. I dont know why that might be as I have seen demos of it working fine for everyone. Please let me know if there is any solution, maybe its something to do with size? of cube or graphic or? thank you for you help.

Because this isn’t 3D in the sense you’re thinking of.... this is a workflow for designers who are familiar with 2D tools to create 3D looking visualisations. Not every designer needs to or wants to learn a 3D modelling application.
@cucumberworks5 жыл бұрын
@@Fafmagic But I always feel confused when I see how adobe approaches this. The workflow for photoshop 3D is so different when compared to its base package. I use both 2D design and 3D modeling software and the steps you need to take to learn photoshop 3D might just be as hard as any other, yet stronger in many senses, 3D modeling softwares.

@@naharemet8284 Indeed. I just don't see why people dispend so much time and effort just to criticize someone who is trying to share some knowledge. For free, by the way.
