Great tutorials! This one and another with the cell division are among the best tuts I have ever seen. But why do you prefer to use masks instead shapes? Imho, shapes are more convenient in many cases when you chose masks.

Nice tutorial. I would just suggest to use a slider for Y value in expression on one adjustment layer , so that you can change distance or angle between strands automatically... also, slider can be animated...

That is a wonderful idea! Completely didn't think about doing that when I was doing this tutorial. Your could probably do the same for the Y rotation to animate the rotation as well.

I am a total amateur but when I try to duplicate the layer and change the X Rotation it doesn't stay in the same spot, so it doesn't create the effect.

Just learning After Effects. Already ran into an issue 2 minutes in lol. The step with duplicating the strands, when I adjust the x-rotation, the object doesn't stay centered like yours does. Do you know why?
@curiousrefuge7 жыл бұрын
That’s a really interesting problem. Where is your anchor point. Is it centered?

yall need to put that mask from 2:38 exact in the (horizontal) middle of the layer. otherwise it won't work. Been there done that.
