Hi Lance. Do you have a video about Product tree? I'm trying to create one, and when clicking the Product Tree button, it displays a new window, but it's empty, it doesn't show anything.

Hi Lance. just wondering if you know of any books that go over FB and QB. I am finding large differences in the inventory numbers in FB vs those in QB and want to sort this out. I have never worked with either system before and it would be great to have these two match perfectly.

Hey Scott, there are not any books on FB and QB that I know of. They have an extensive wiki. If FB and QB are not matching, there are really only a few reasons why. 1.They weren't matching to begin with, 2. The accounts are mapped wrong, 3. 'Marked as posted' or 're-post' where used. 4. Someone change a transaction in QB that FB created. These issues are actually on my list of videos to do. Setting the integration up correctly and having a firm understanding of how the two talk to each other is a big deal.

Hi again, I am wondering if there is any way to allow for raw goods to go into a negative position in FB? The reason I ask is we manufacture our product off site where our raw materials are held. At times our product is produced by pulling from any stock pile available (our RM either has not been physically received where it is manufactured or has not been received in our system), but since we have no RM in our system the cost of the FG manufactured is understated because $0 is allocated to some component of the BOM (the RM which shows as a 0 balance in our system). To make things worse, FB does not warn you when this is going to happen or at least I haven't figured out how to make that work. Is there a way around this? I believe that we use average price when costing our FG, but is there a way to use standard costing and at the end of some period do an adjusting entry? Hopefully I am articulating my issue in an understandable manner. Any info or videos you can direct me to regarding this is greatly appreciated.

@@uncommonsense6022 Fishbowl doesn't allow quantity to dip into the negative. That is one of the features that sets it apart from QB and draws people to it. It's rigid and inflexible in this manner. It forces the user to keep up to date with inventory transactions. You can't pick it unless you have received it or finished the WO first. There are safety checks in place to prevent finishing the WO without the inventory. A red warning appears in the WO finish wizard. If that's not enough, there is a user rights limitation you can turn on. Create a user group called "Production" or "Manufacturing". Give all the manufacturing rights except for "Consume with Short." Make sure none of the other User Groups have the right to "Consume when short". Watch this video and fast forward to about 3:30. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hGaWnXmBncifr6s

Not having that box checked certainly can make a mess of things. Do you also have any videos on how to adjust the cost of inventory (and not the number of units in inventory)?
