Ok so I ordered the cover and the blanket and I loved them both. I already had all the rest of the necessary bedding although I will be keeping your sheet recommendation for the future! Thank you so very much for this video. I have been wanting to order a cover off of Amazon forever and each time I would get overwhelmed. I love your channel and please keep up the dupes videos. I splurged on my first set of 100% linen sheets and they're incredible. I got tired of pure white and went for the light flax tone. Totally amazing.

I am over white sheets after 20 years. I wish I could find a good floral sheet but they're always low thread count. I just stayed at a Hilton and that bed was amazing (nothing else was tho). So I looked up what they use. It's a specially made Serta. I also think they use two mattress pads. I have a Saatva mattress topper which really helps and a really good mattress pad. I have two delicious comforters on my bed because I'm also over the duvet thing. I spend money on pillows bc I am old now and need a good pillow.

@@KivaBrent - Our bed doesn’t lend itself to tucking in sheets and coverlets at all, so I’ve been saved all the tucking, and that makes the folding easily doable. Yay!

Interesting and so different from my country. With all the layers, I would fight every night. The tuck in makes me feel shackled. In hotels I have to untuck everything first. Do they wash the quilt always or only the sheets? I dont want to touch the quilt, where a stranger has slept in without washing.

They're supposed to wash comforter between guests but the bedspread rarely gets washed. Lose the spread the second you get into the room.

I like to be able to pull back my top sheet and blanket together at night when I am ready for sleep. Your way would require me to rearrange the sheet and blanket in order to sleep. I always fold the sheets over the blanket to keep it clean from face creams. Easier to wash sheets weekly than a blanket. That being said, I function in logic. I work less based on how I see function over style. When you look at my bed it looks like yours except my top coverlet is pulled up and under the pillows.

It looks lovely, but it seems quite warm. Also, I don't think many people here in the Netherlands use top sheets and quilts anymore (I do remember my grandma using them). Most people simply use duvets and duvet covers.

Lovely! I layer my bedding now and it looks so good! It actually looks like a hotel bed and I love it. My husband used to tease me by counting the pillows (including decorative pillows)that we take off at night before bed. It was 19 but I reduced them down to 11!🤣🤣

*For colder months, YES!* . Sheets, Quilt, throw are my jam for Summer. I prefer to mix my solids with prints and please don't tuck me in, I'm a thrasher. I'm a huge fan of one long lumbar! I'm all for the luxe look for less. I paid $20 at Ollie's for a queen navy basket weave quilt with shams.(Serta Brand) My gal pal bought the Pottery Barn matelassé quilt in navy and two Euro shams along with the Jordana Paisley duvet cover and shams, it's a beautiful combo. She has dogs and a ragdoll cat. Kitty hair is already doing a number on the quilt after several washings. My dogs sleep on my bed. I'd rather have a replacement at the ready than shell out big $$ on bedding. I alternate between contoured memory foam and down pillows, shams stuffers are down alternative (all basis covered). The layering of a bed does make it a stylistic moment, how you sleep in it is another story. Great Tips, thank you!

I love white bedding. But it’s hard for me with three dogs who sleep in our bed. My husband will leave nothing tucked in. So I usually don’t waste my time. I love the look of the bedding. I’ve been looking on Amazon for a new comforter set. But probably in a beige, oatmeal or taupe. I do have a white dust ruffle. Even though they are supposed to be out. I have a few things stored under my bed. And my dogs go under there to sleep. I’m sure they would prefer me not to have a bed skirt. But I don’t really care. I’d like to sleep in bed it’s just me and my husband like we used to before these spoiled dogs. I have a chunky blanket that I bought at Target. It’s a Casaluna. And I think it cost a little bit more than I ours normally spend. I have a different color chunky blanket in the guest room. And someone has used it. So I think it needs some work. And it say dry clean only. So that I’ll probably never get done. I will fix it.

Same! I've been scouring the internet looking for ideas for bedding but all you find out there is the sad beige vibe. I have a dusty purple duvet cover arriving in a few days but I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out what other colors to use with it, and again, there's not much out there for cute ideas for anything colorful. Eta: My favorite part of these types of videos is "Now let's add some color!" and they throw a cream colored throw blanket on the bed 😂 I have 2 dogs and a feral partner. Myself alone, I could use whites and creams, but there is no way with my bf and dogs living in my home 🤦‍♀️ Pretty look, but I know my family well enough to know better.

Living in Texas I don't have a duvet insert in my duvet during the summer. My bed looks great in the cooler months with all the fluffiness but I need to know how to make it look good without the insert. Help! Please.

I'm in SC. During the hot months, I only use sheets and a lightweight cotton blanket, with a thin quilt as a cover (shams match the quilt). It's not fluffy at all, but you could use color and texture in place of bulk. Maybe add fluffy throws for pretty, and set them aside when you actually go to sleep.

I’m I’m FL, so I can relate. I use an untucked top sheet (ivory), with a thin-ish cotton blend coverlet in a pale putty color (very lightly quilted, weighs almost nothing) over the sheet, also untucked. I put a moss green matelesse coverlet folded back over that, but just “for pretty” - if we slept under that, we’d boil. Since there are shams with both coverlets, I usually change them around when I make the bed, just to change up the look. I don’t have a lumbar pillow, but I have lots of toss pillow covers, and use one or two, seasonally. I have a problem with making a throw look like anything but a dishrag, so I don’t bother with that. The sham pillows and matelesse coverlet spend the night on a chair.

Warm climate summer bedding - sheets, lightweight cotton blanket (both Pottery Barn incidentally), lightweight cotton quilt at foot of bed for color and/or texture, 4 functional pillows, no decorative pillows. Your bed definitely looks great - magazine shoot ready! - but so not functional for daily use and making up. Still enjoyed the video though!

Yes, it looks gorgeous. BUT, try to never buy store, mass market quilts. Ugh. Just no. Real quilts are better made, will last longer and won't cost anymore or cost less than PB. Honestly, if all you want is a whole cloth quilt* with plain channel quilting? Hire a long arm quilter and it will be less and last a lifetime. (* whole cloth quilts are one piece of solid color fabric. Usually white, but can be any color.)
