Yes, a smart move. I felt like it was necessary to save the atmosphere for the rest of the episode due to Iain's uncontrolled childish tantrum... Some guests really just let their own egos and insecurities dominate the whole situation, because the format is designed to be judgmental for comedic or other emotional effect. It's profoundly human and arguably good television, but also sad as hell. It's most satisfying for me when guests come to terms with their shitty performance or low score, because it shows maturity and a sense of humor.

@@rootkite I always think of the comparison of Iain from this series vs David from TM New Zealand S2. They both got angry all the time but Iain would get angry with people and everything around him, and David only got angry with himself. And when David had to do a rap diss he felt so guilty he bought them presents

Iain totally deserved to be dragged through this. But I do think his attempt was 5 points worthy. "Sexy is someone accepting you for you and doing a heartfelt favor" is a very positive interpretation. Greg basically went "but the puppet isn't pretty" in response. Think about it and ignore Iain's attitude for a moment. Now consider the skill of the puppet construction.

​@@gdrad I prefer to think Greg gave him full marks because he knew it would be a) the only way to stop the petulant little shit throwing another tantrum in front of a live studio audience and b) would STILL manage to make Iain look like the absolute bell-end he was, because it undermined the entire need for Iain's melt-down. And, when you think about it, it was an opportunity for Iain to immediately claw back some dignity by either apologising to everyone or by being magnanimous in victory. Instead, he's on his feet applauding himself like he's just beaten his little brother at Mario Kart. Sorry, I just think he was a ghastly little twat. I've genuinely liked every other contestant on Taskmaster, but he pisses me off something chronic.

I know I was. This might be my least favorite cast ever, mainly because of Iain. I like a lot of the recent casts. They seem to understand this is an entertainment show, not a game show.

Her series had bloody Rhod Gilbert and James Acaster on it and she still managed to turn it into one of my least favourite series because she just complained whenever someone thought outside of the box for a task.
