Well it only took me three times to hold down the Alt key while selecting Minus Front from Pathfinder. This is an awesome walk-through. Thank you!

You Sensei, are uh-mae-ziiiiiiingggg! Thank you!! i needed all of these tricks plus you are the best one explaining, so natural and easy-going, if you ever read this comment, i would like to ask for focused videos on how to use the other graph types in illustrator.

Thank you-those words are much appreciated! There will be more graph stuff coming along later, but if you really can't wait, maybe you could try out one of my infographics courses on LinkedIn Learning (designninja.tv/AiInfographics)? You don't have to have a membership-many of my courses are available off the shelf.

So much valuable information! Thanks for this (just looking for a good tut on a donut chart and learned so much more about the shape finder!)!!

This was extremely helpful!! If you want to click+shift+drag to make it proportionally larger, I noticed that it cuts off/the colors get messed up again-is that just the cost of doing business, or is there something I'm doing wrong?

Sorry for the huge delay in reply-I've had to be off for a few weeks. If you want to resize you must use the Scale tool to do that when working with graphs in a clipping mask.

Do you know if it is possible to create a half pie chart? Like a rainbow style. It is possible in Excel.

Is there any way of bringing this to InDesign? When I try to copy paste it in my indesign file the segments dissappear and it looks like normal pie chart...
@TheDesignNinja6 жыл бұрын
Hey there. You perhaps shouldn't use copy/paste from ai to indesign for anything but the smallest of graphics-it's not the best way-and as you've discovered, some things don't work (because InDesign can't create clipping masks). Instead, save the Illustrator file (as an .ai file) and use the Place command in InDesign (under the File menu) which then keeps a live link to your .ai file so if you make any changes… Hope that helps. :)

Hey Tugra! Well, thank you-that means so much to me, and I'm so grateful for you letting me know. Charts are still such a powerful part of Illustrator, but not the easiest of things to learn, perhaps. I'll keep on trying to unwrap them and other parts of Illustrator, so we can all be more productive, and happier with the way we work. Keep watching! :)
