Any reasons why you wouldn't use Dehancer for film grain and halation?
@CanaryFilmPro Жыл бұрын
Men, I bought also the Dehancer plugin and it's not so great! When you have a footage with mix neon strong lights the Kodak 2383 garbage. The plugin cannot handle the gamut compression! If you're grading a footage like You here a woman in the forest it's not a problem.l advice to all of you don't waste your money for that plugin Dehancer! Maybe I should be making a really video about Dehancer.

I fell you bro, but let be honest, a mix neon strong lights scene where the skin is not protected against saturation might not be the best for grading in the first place.

Can you make a tutorial of how to make this film look without dehancer or plugins plsss🙏
@george.colorist Жыл бұрын
You can use the Kodak 2383 Film Look LUT in DaVinci Resolve to get a very similar look.

Why you don't put input space color in the IDT?

So I was trying this and couldn't work out why when I was in DWG/I, dehancer was going weird and making everything look really cyan (with the film stock emulations). Then I re-watched this and realised that it is actually doing the same for you. Why is it that even when you have the correct CST settings in, dehancer looks TOTALLY different than if you use camera specific inputs in dehancer? Did you find the same? I'm trying to find a workflow where Dehancer works normally (as it does with inputting specific camera details) but in a DWG/I space. Any idea?

Out of curiosity, what is your reasoning for not using the film grain and halation from within the dehancer plugin itself?
@george.colorist Жыл бұрын
In this case, to keep the tutorial shorter and show how native Davinci Resolve effects can be used with Dehancer.

@@hethfilms No problem. Dehancer is releasing a new version with an update on the film grain and halation controls so I'll be uploading a tutorial on that.

@@george.colorist I know, I use it myself and have the new 7.0 beta installed. I like the new simplified preset based layout a lot for quick look developments.

@@hethfilms Its very convenient and they look great too. The new film damage is also nice.
