🔥 Frequently Asked Questions:
Do you have a left handed version of this video? If you are left handed, you can convert ANY video on KZbin yourself! Simply go to www.mirrorthev... and follow the instructions to mirror flip any video to convert to left handed!
How much yarn will I need? This is a very tricky question to answer as there are so many variables! How much yarn you need will depend on which yarn you choose, the thickness of that yarn, your tension and how large you want your finished project to be. I suggest making a small sample first so you can gauge how much yarn you'll need. If making a crochet square, you can weigh your finished square to work out how much yarn it used!
How many squares do I need for a blanket? That all depends on the size of the square you are making and how big you want your finished blanket to be! I always advise making one square first then measuring the size of it. From there you can work out how many squares you will need to get the blanket size you want 😀
Do you have the written pattern? Yes! I have written patterns to accompany my video tutorials on my website here: www.hookedbyro... The written pattern is generally released a week or so after the video tutorial to ensure there are no errors in the video itself and to make amendments in the written version if any are found. All the written patterns are FREE to access on my website
How can I print the pattern from your website? Do you have downloadable PDF's? Not at this time no. This may change in the future but for now, I only provide the written pattern directly on my website.
Can you remake this video so it is slower? If the video speed is too fast, you can slow it down! 😀 See this video on exactly how: • How to Adjust the Spee...
Why do you use American stitch terminology? I learnt using USA stitch terms, long before I even knew there was a difference between UK & US terminology! American terms are my "first language" so to speak. If you need a conversion chart, I have one here! www.hookedbyro...

Thank you for this beautiful motif. I watched the other video tutorial on how to join the hexagons. But with this one I get a bit confused with colour changes. Would it be possible to have another video tutorial for joining these motives showing how to change colour while joining motives. Thank you and I really appreciate your art.

So I worked out how to do the tight join as you go on this one. It IS a little tricky. Complete your half corner and then pull up the loop, and link it into the chain one space in the corner you are joining. Then complete the chain 1. Draw up the loop long and pull it through the first dbc on the second half of the corner and repeat, them change your color and draw up the long loop again, this time you are going to pull it through the contrasting color chain from the row below, it seems counter intuitive, you want to match up the colors, but if you DON'T do that your pattern will not match up and look crooked. Took me a couple of tries to get it right. I kept wondering why my little circles looked one chain off. Hope this makes sense.

Frankly, I can't imagine following a written pattern. Even a chart might be tricky. As for the back, I used a light pink with white a nothing shows, nothing! Even with dark/light combos, the little hiccups are inconsequential - oops, my opinion :) Thanks again, Robin, for adding to my long list of new projects. PS - have you ever taken it to many more rounds to create, say, lapghan size?

This is amazing! I have so much unused yarn and I was looking for a pattern to use it up, this is it! Thank you for always knowing exactly what a I need! I made your Ruby blanket for my step daughter and she loves it, same color way, I just did a double border around it so I didn’t have to weave in any ends.❤

This is very beautiful and it will look great in any colour scheme, it’s all about preference and individual taste. I love your pink and white choice. It’s great currying the yarn with you but there is no avoiding the joining of the hexagons 😂😂 for this reason alone, I am on my second log cabin blanket (your pattern Robin) I tweedy yarn, colours, pink, sea green, grey, and blue. These colours will be great for the hexagons which I shall have a go. Many thanks, it was, as per usual well delivered tutorial, what we expect to see from you Robin, thanks 🌷🧶🌷 Maria

@HookedbyRobin 4 ай бұрын
Hi Maria, thank you - the pink and white definitely pops!😍 You could join the hexagons as you go if you wanted, I already have a full tutorial for that here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zne1dqmJq6mZr7csi=96xf4mesULQkqPNv I did the colour changes at the same time as the joining - it's a bit fiddly and requires a little concentration but if you prefer, you can always crochet or sew them together at the back afterwards. Your log cabin blanket colours sound beautiful together!🥰

I'm curious..... do you think this would look good if you just kept going following the pattern. So make it's like 50 Rows instead of 5 or would that not work?

Give it a try! By 20 rows you'd get a good feel for how it draped etc at the very least!

. Big crochet hexagons end up rippling, but you could end up with a nice base for a sweater 😊

I love this , but can you do short video on joining these particular squares ? I use join as you go method all the time but not sure how to do this would one more round ( the join round ) be done and is it done in one color , in the case of your hexagon would you do your joining round all in pink , ughhh I'm not sure lol

Robin this is BRILLANT!!!! Are you joining the hexagons, as you go? or making them then joining by crocheting them together? I'm a little confused as the video to join is joining as you go! I've made 28 hexagons so far and I think I know what comes next but want to make sure. Thank you for this fantastic pattern.
@HookedbyRobin
@HookedbyRobin 3 ай бұрын
I personally joined mine as I went BUT most people are opting to join afterwards for ease and to avoid the colour changes AND join as you go combo which can be a bit confusing initially :)
