Wonderful tutorial! I always avoided solid granny sqaures because it always looked off, but ths tutorial made it super easy and pretty!

The double crochet instead of the chain 2 in the closing corner is much better to use. Appreciate you for teaching this tutorial.

This is how i always do mine but i hate the look of starting chains so i always use (depending on what looks better with the yarn im using etc) i use a standing dc or stacked singles. If i need to really cover up the start then i sometimes make my first st the 2nd of the corner sts, so my last sts are a ch 2 n dc then join. You can then turn & sl st to the corner, turn n then start again on the same side
@tazeraticify7 сағат бұрын
I have been doing a variation of this exact thing with 2 differences clusters of 4 dc to start and a ch. 1 before closing the corner with a stitch, I never understood the chain one before that last stitch…I like your version much better! And the variation of stitches to use.

Wonderful video! One question: have you any tips for changing colors by round? (Anybody can chime in here, not just Robin) I’ve been trying to figure out how to do a temperature blanket with each month represented by a square, each day by a round. It’s driving me crazy 😂 Thanks as always for your fabulous videos ❤

You can use standing stitches for each new row - I show them on this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l6G3koJoradgZ5Isi=-joN-aYHJxXV1OZ2 I hope that helps!

how perfect! i have 80 squares to connect for a blanket for my boyfriend and was absolutely dreading connecting all of them. i’ve finished all the squares already but oh well, what’s a thicker white border around them lol. thank you so much for the clear and concise tutorial, super nice to have something not made only for beginners!

This is absolutely brilliant - it makes join-as-you-go squares/hexagons so much easier when you have to join to that last side! I don't think I'll ever go back to any other method.

Oh my gosh!! I have frogged this square so many times I think that I am starting to crave flies! Nonetheless, I am determined to figure it out. Rippit rippit. Cup of tea. Start again. 😂 At least I am using my favorite amethyst color so it's pretty even if it is a mess! UPDATE! Finally! I have a 19x19 stitch square. Now to make a few more for the CAL blanket. (P. S. Zero fly snacks required, just a cup of tea and eye reset). Thanks Robin! I am looking forward to the next square!

Tried this , but then my wool starting seperating ,then i got lost . Ended up giving up after multiple tries.I will try again next time with a bigger hook because mine was quiet thin.And for time reason it was tight ,compared to yours😢

Oh Robin, this has got to be my fav. of the CAL Pick 'n' Mix blocks so far. I've made so many daisies (sans background granny) If you could do a peace sign block, this would make a great 1970's inspired blanket. Either way, I'm nuts over this block. 🌼🌈🙂☮
