@SwordsandBrushes
@SwordsandBrushes ะ–ั‹ะป ะฑาฑั€ั‹ะฝ
Certainly there are a few :) You can defienitly do the route of gluing onto the base first then adding the basing materials afterwards - takes a bit longer and you have to be careful to not get glue and paint onto the model. You can "pin" the model into place, this can be to drill a hole in the base top and a foot of the model and add a bit of paper clip for that stability - this is also a great method for miniatures on dioramas :) And you can just use super glue to to glue the mini into place, either by gluing onto the material itself - or get a hobby knife and take a small bit off where the foot would go and then that wll directly glue onto the base :) Id say 90% of my minis are glued in the last way as i found it works best for what i need, and then fragile miniatures such as horses are always glued on before any basing material is applied :) Hope that helps! :):)

If you are talking about bendy soft bases, the ones made with soft plastic, the PVA detaches when the bases is flexed. You can glue a washer underneath or fill with greenstuff/milliput to keep it straight. Otherwise, never had a problem gluing sand with PVA.

I rarely do that, unless something i buy some stuff from eBay and it comes broken so i need to do a repair job (like horses). @SwordsandBrushes
@SwordsandBrushes ะ–ั‹ะป ะฑาฑั€ั‹ะฝ
For the majority of plastic minis i just use super glue. depending how much surface are with the feet will attach to the base. For metal minis i mainly glue them onto the base first before sanding. But i also do the method of using masking tape to cover the slotta hole on bases, batch paint them and then create a small hole where the masking tape is. And for the metal mini clip off the majority of the tab that the feet are on and leave a bit under one foot - this creates a good strong wedge once its glued into the hole of the slotta base :) Little things like that saves me time, and on a grand scale of a whole army - i have saved even more :):)
