The cap beads come in a wide variety of styles, colors, sizes & shapes and can be found online or in the crafting stores in the jewelry/beading aisle. With so many choices to choose from you should have fun making your own creations, Julia, and I hope that you do! Tweek😁

Hi Patricia! Please go to another episode of TwT called “ How I Made a Giant Beaded Cluster Ball “ where we devoted the entire segment to this issue! I was SO frustrated when I learned the ‘how to’ of these beaded balls that I wanted to make the process as clear and straight forward as possible. I hope we were successful in this endeavor and truly hope you will stick with it, follow along till the moment it ‘clicks’ and makes sense to you as to how to create your own. As I demonstrate in the video pause it, work the beads, then continue. Once you have the pattern down you’ll be free to make any size & color beaded cluster you desire. You can do eeet! 😁 Tweek

@@patriciaalas5418 Hi Patricia, Think of the Cluster Bead Ball as each ‘round’ being a set of 5. For instance: on the 1/2 CBBall..The first round is already 5. The next, you are adding 4 beads to the one that is waiting for it - making 5. The next 3 rounds are where 2 beads are waiting for the added 3 beads - each set adding up to 5. The last round is the two beads left over which are added to the waiting 3 beads, again, adding up to 5. There are tutorials for both the full and the half clusters. I hope you keep trying, Patricia, cuz the holidays are coming and I’m doing at least 4 different ways to use the balls and are these items SO cute!!! You can doo-eet! ( it took me LOTS of practice to get it down… one of my clusters turned into what looks like a spaceship saucer and I tell ya, I do NOT know what I did to cause that result!!! Go figure 🤣) So relax, line up the beads first ( 5.4.3.3.3.2… etc ) always, and when it all clicks you’ll feel good and can create your own! Yes You Can, Patricia!! 😁Tweek

@@TweakswithTweek I have the chart on hand! But at some point I mess up I have watched it at least 25 times I am not giving up!
@TweakswithTweek3 жыл бұрын
@@patriciaalas5418 Hmmm… as I go over the ‘set of five’ I wonder, Patricia, if after you string the beads onto the right side - then bring the left side wire over and string into the last bead on that bead set - you continue, with that left wire, to string into the neighboring bead, the buddy, of that bead you had just done, yes? If each set is strung properly you’ll have the correct number of beads sitting between the right&left wires waiting for the addition of next round of beads. I keep trying to help you to determine where the 5 count set is not working… and ( like me making the flying saucer shape ball ) it is easy to miss a step and end up without creating the ball ( or half ball ) at all. But gosh, I appreciate your tenacity, Patricia! I’d need another set of fingers to count the number of times that I removed ALL the beads and started over… so I really understand your frustration! Also, to learn the pattern it IS easier to use Round beads- -beads Without a pattern on them, as patterns can confuse even more as the ball takes its shape. -beads in the 6mm or 8mm size. Too big and the beads slip on the wire in the larger drill holes… Too small and they are difficult to see as you try to string. At each point your are creating sets of 5, like pentagons. At each point before you add ( always on the right wire ) the next beads, the left wire & right wire are laying in front of you and between them is the correct number of beads waiting to make the next set of 5. For instance - Adding 4 beads means there is ONE bead sitting with left & right wires on either side. Adding 3 beads means the left & right wires have 2 beads waiting between them. Adding 2 beads means the left & right wires have 3 beads waiting between them. Before you add beads on that right wire, look to see how many beads wait between the left&right beads. Are there 3 beads there? They need two more. If 2 beads are there they need an addition of 3. But you gotta make sure that that left wire goes through its neighbor buddy bead before you continue to beading the next set. Once you get the pattern and it ‘clicks’ you’ll be free from the frustration of learning it. I compliment your ‘stick to it’ mentality, Patricia! I encourage you and hope for your success! Tweek ☺️

@TweakswithTweek3 жыл бұрын
Hi Wanda, I learned how to make beaded cluster balls by combing thru at least 3 online videos and combining what I learned into my version, so I completely understand your frustration! Putting the beads in their pattern 5,4,3,3,3,2,3,2,2,2,1 really really helps. I even wrote the numbers down and kept the list in front of me as I tried to master the bead placement on the wire. As I missed counted and made mistakes ( one of my cluster balls looks like a spaceship saucer!) I simply unstrung the beads and tried again. Soon, with more practice, you’ll string the wire with less thought… tho I ALWAYS set up the beads in their pattern before I begin. Two hints that I found helpful as I learned, Wanda… If the beads are smooth circular the ball pattern ended up more even… and too much wire is way better than not enough, cuz if my beads slide around as I’m stringing the pattern I can still close off the ball when I give myself enough wire to finish. Keep at it! You can doo-eet! Left side, right side… the bead count always adds to 5 in each round of stringing. You are making many little pentagons as you go, ya know. But OH how pretty the beaded cluster balls can be, especially with glass beads! I have even made a beaded clusterball made of 30 beaded cluster balls!!! Tho, I doubt I’d do that again… there’s just not enough aspirin on the planet to ward off THAT kinda headache!! Whew!! Hah hah!! Good luck, Wanda! Tweek😁

@TweakswithTweek5 ай бұрын
Ok… Claire, please know that you are in good company as you’re in the throws of attempts in mastering the cluster ball. I encourage you to keep trying, tho, cuz once the pattern ‘clicks’ you’ll be free to express your ‘cluster creativity’ in so many fun ways! A few tips that helped me: Set up the pattern, every time. Use a dish towel to keep the beads from rolling out of their pattern… a flat smooth surface was cause for much frustration for me until I figured that part out as even a brush by the passing wire would send them flying ( grrrrrrrr! ) Always string beads from the right side wire…. Always pull thru with the left side wire Once you’ve pulled the left side wire thru, push it thru the next ‘neighbor’ bead. You are setting your pattern in groups of 5. If you have 3 beads to add/string on the next step there should be 2 beads waiting to join them. As the beads begin to form into a cluster, I use my thumb to snuggle into the curve that’s emerging… this to help me keep my ‘right/left’ wires in correct position. As you see the cluster form you’ll be adding less beads… pattern ends with 2, 2, 2, 1 BIG remember to have 3 beads waiting when you add the 2 … finally 4 beads waiting for the 1 Each time, in each step of the pattern, you’ll have a set of 5 beads that create the little pentagon. Those pentagons make the cluster. I’m attempting to think of ways to help you see the pattern as you go, Claire, but truly the best thing to keep in mind is to keep trying. I recall very well how I felt when I began this project and how something as simple as bead size, or color, or even a bead’s reflectivity could send me off whack. OH how I recall THAT!!! One of my many MANY missteps ended up with my cluster ending up shaped like a spaceship ufo. I still could not explain to you HOW that happened or in which step I messed up! Yet it is the one my husband kept, his fav! Hahaha I wish you luck, Claire ( and patience and tenacity and gumption ) with the hope that, after you’ve thrown the beads AND the wire and have walked away from your work space, that you’ll return to try again. Cuz once you ‘get it’ and it finally makes sense, oh my, THEN the fun begins. The beaded cluster stands on its own as something of beauty. Combine it with others? What CAN’T you create?!? You can do it, Claire! Heck, if I can, anyone can! 🤣 Tweek
