Thank you best tutorial on how to make a beaded ball. You used big beads and setting up the amount of beads in each row was perfect. You’re a very good teacher I have searched all over the internet for a beaded ball pattern never found a good one until yours. I have made many things out of the plastic beads. Grandfather clock, Teddy bear night lights, A cross on a pedestal, bowls, night lights using the tri beads. That’s just a few of the things I’ve made with beads.

This comment brings me great satisfaction because I found it SO VERY difficult to learn the pattern based on the tutorials I was trying to learn from! We wanted to create an easier video for others, if just to help ease those frustrations for people, like me, who were new to the beaded cluster ball. You comment, Margaret, is the reward for our efforts in this regard. Thank You! Tweek 😄

Hi Valsyng, I’d suggest watching another video where I slow down the beading on the cluster process… the crystal beads are hard to keep track of cuz they are clear, ya know? I’m going to skim thru my videos to find one that I think may help you best. Be right back! 😁

Hi Valsyng, I suggest you may find our TwT episode on ‘Making an Auto Angel’ helpful as in it I slowly step-by-step my way thru making the cluster ball. I very vividly recall my own frustration in learning the cluster ball pattern, so do be kind and patient with yourself as you master the skill … I know you will! Keep at it! Tweek😁

This tutorial is so helpful. I do keep on messing up on the pattern somewhere after I have finished half of the cluster though which is only noticeable at the end when the hexagon pattern messes up somewhat and is uneven. I think I am threading the beads incorrectly at some point but can never figure out where I have gone wrong. Gonna retry this tomorrow though when I have some sleep in me instead of at 11:47 PM ahaha. I am loving your videos and this has started a new hyper focus for me!

Kudos to you for keeping at it, Rosey! I had horrible trouble learning the cluster pattern at the start… it was awful. That is why we made the videos, multiple ones, to try to catch every angle, to lay out the beads before you string them, and to follow that golden rule… string beads on the RIGHT wire & pull thru with the Left wire. Plus, always have the concave spot ( I use my thumb to remind me ) facing you as you move thru the pattern. I have made a cluster that ‘caved in on itself’ and looks like a spaceship. I still don’t know what I did to get that shape! Yes, the frustration is real… yet once you get the pattern down you can create any size or color cluster ball you wish to! That’s cool …and Fun! And remember, when in doubt, if you lose track, reset the bead line-up and give it another go. You are always making sets of 5. So if 3 beads are waiting you string 2. If 2 beads wait, string 3. That’s another way to help stay on track. Good luck and thank you for your comment!🥳

Yes, we used large beads in this video so it would be easier for people to see while learning. Cluster balls can be a bit confusing to make the first few times.

Thank you for the obvious and clear tutorial. I've done it twise but it doesn't turn out to be spherical. It turned out to be more like a 3D oval shape. I don't know what i did wrong! When I squish it it becomes like a ball, but as soon as I let go it goes back!!

Hi Maha, I have once followed the pattern yet ended up with a ‘space ship shape’ and have not figured out HOW I did that as the shape was kinda cool! But try as I might I was not successful in duplicating that shape. I can only encourage you to set out the beads in order and try again. Oh how I understand your frustration, tho! Multiple tutorials were what I had to sift through to ‘get it’ but the more I practiced the better I got at making the cluster. When I make a mistake I remove the beads and place them back in sequence ( getting a fresh piece of wire helps as over use makes it curl, adding to my frustration ). I always lay out the pattern. I always pull the beads to form the ‘5- bead pentagon ‘. If you don’t have a 5-bead pattern in each round you end up with another shape other than the circle you seek. Let each addition of the beads in the pattern add up to 5. Pull the wire tight and do not forget ( most important ) to ‘buddy up’ the beads to not only connect the 5-sets to each other, but to set yourself up for the next sequence. There are 11 ‘sets’ to each cluster to execute… sometimes the beads roll and my count gets thrown off. Grrrr! So lay out the pattern - 5 4 3 3 3 2 3 2 2 2 1 , be mindful of ‘left side /right side’ wires , and always string beads on the right side then bring the left side wire over to go thru the last bead on the added set. I hope this helps you, Maha. Don’t give up! I keep discovering new ways to use the beaded cluster balls. Once you understand the pattern it can become FUN to create the clusters!! Take a break and come back to try again.. good luck! Tweek 😀

Candle! What a lovely message! Thank you! My experience learning to make the beaded clusters was SO very stressful as I bounced from tutorial after tutorial trying to determine exactly HOW to make one! We decided to make a specifically slower, one camera angle tutorial of our own to give others a better shot at mastering the beaded cluster for themselves. I DO very much understand the frustrations the pattern can bring! I am glad you found our efforts to be helpful. That makes me feel very glad, Candle! There are wonderful things to create with the beaded clusters. I wish you best luck as you discover those joys! Tweek 😁

Hi Denice, I look for sales when I purchase beads and keep an eye out for beads at rummage sales, estate sales, consignment shops, boutiques and Art Fairs or Bazars. Yet if I need a specific bead my go-to is online purchase. Prices on beads at my local craft stores have doubled in the past few years! So watch for those sales! Let me add, I go for glass beads overall but acrylic could do… tho glass keeps its color and acrylic beads fade as they are exposed to sunlight. Thank you for your kind comment! Good Luck!

I am a newby to making jewelry. I would like to ask what you use as a beading mat?
@TweakswithTweek
@TweakswithTweek 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Tammy, I have used different materials as beading mats and what I like best is a piece of cardboard covered in felt! Funny, eh? The mat I am currently using is 12 x 14 inches and the felt is black. I made it with cardboard that came into the house thru a delivery and only had to purchase the felt. Hot glue holds it together. I find the felt soft and keeps beads from rolling. Of course, you can cruise any beading aisle in your local craft store and find beading mats there, too. For a long time I simply spread a soft piece of fabric out on my work surface. That worked alright, but made picking up the project difficult. The cardboard offers a firm base so I can move it all as needed with far less mess or fuss. Also, if/when the mat wears out with use, simply grab some cardboard and make a new one! Have fun and thank you for your comment, Tammy! Tweek ☺️

So much fun, can you tell me a great supplier for beads. And also what size are you working with in this video ?
@TweakswithTweek
@TweakswithTweek 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Claudia, I don’t have one supplier of beads. I find them where ever I am able, ie: local crafting stores, bead stores, consignment stores, antique stores, rummage sales, estate sales, retail bead stores online including amazon, and every clearance sale I encounter are resources to explore. ( Beaded garland finds can be very rewarding as five, or more, types of beads can be gleaned from a singular strand! ). The beads I used in the Giant Cluster video is a size 12mm and I got them online. Gotta keep your eyes peeled… Some of my bead collection ‘finds’ include beads I found at a rummage sale my Mom-in-law and I happened along over 30 years ago 😁 Always be on the hunt - especially now during the Holidays! It’s fun! Thanks for your comment, Claudia! Tweek 😁

@@llee2348 Hi! Any size bead works! As long as you can string the wire ( or thread ) thru the beads multiple times, ie: smaller beads = thinner wire. Have fun!

Hi Evangelina, I completely understand the frustration of learning the bead pattern of the beaded cluster ball… so much so that we created the ‘Giant Cluster Ball’ TwT episode that used the big beads and kept the beading pace slower, and used the one camera view without cuts. We wanted to make a more understandable tutorial for beginners like me! 😄 We hoped to eliminate as much of the confusion as possible in making the beaded cluster and I am HAPPY that you found this video, Evangelina! Once you master the cluster there’s nothing to hold you back as you let your imagination fly! I wish you luck and hope you will be kind to yourself as your skills strengthen. One of My early cluster attempts ended up looking like a spaceship! I had no idea where I missed or skipped a piece of the pattern in the cluster and, for the life of me, can still not figure out how I managed it! Funny, eh? Thank you for your comment! We hope our efforts are of help to you! Tweek😁
