Wow, thank you for this. I have so much nostalgia towards the man that ghosted me and gave me absolutely no closure after I had felt so much for him. The connection and the chemistry was the strongest I’ve ever experienced and he just disappeared. He did many wrong things to me, but I have always thought of him fondly and through the lens of nostalgia. Now, at least I have a better understanding as to why.

If the relationship isn't very solid, if you're still just dating or 'talking' and it somehow fizzles out for any reason, then not giving it any resolution or closure is the best way to set it up for another chance later on. So it's not always immoral to deny someone closure in a low stakes situation.

And I don't mean 'ghost this person'. I mean natural fizzle out, one day one of the two stops replying. The other is fine with it and the dynamic remains hanging in the air without either side being able to put any definition on it.
