I followed along the tutorial. It took me nearly 8 hours to finish this lesson!...=)) Very exciting and very informative! Thank you very much!!!) What I found: in my case the boolean just doesn't want to work this the arrays.. It took me a considerable amount of time to figure that out.. I just kept on trying and trying..) With single cylinders it works pretty nice. So I made only a couple of holes. That'll be my first 3d model =)

Booleans work best after applying the subsurf modifier. For some reason, they don't get along well with it while it's active in the modifiers group. You have to commit to the subsurf first. What I like to do is join all of the objects i'm going to be cutting out of a model with booleans, then do just one big boolean afterwards. Also, sometimes there's a glitch in Blender where you'll put difference and it joins the models instead. So if you select the opposite union, it will work property. I have absolutely no idea why it does this, but it happens to me all of the time. :) I didn't know about the alt click to apply to multiple models. Handy little trick. I'm always learning something new in Blender.

The best way to prevent blender slowing down when scaling the objects associated with the boolean modifier is to click the little X next to the object name (in the case of this video, Cylinder and cylinder.001) on the modifier, then adjust the cylinders, then re-select the objects on the modifier. Hope this helps :)

Possible tip for people at around 35:00 Don't delete edge loops if it isn't an edge LOOP, maybe try dissolve edges

Hehe, you should dissolve edges on a flat surface to delete them instead of getting weird geometry by deleting edge loops. Hope that helps.

why you dont use support loops to help keep the amount of subdivisions in place, I think its more effective than edge crease

It can get very messy though, and if you want to make any minor adjustments later, moving multiple vertices becomes quite difficult.

try adding a few more vertices around the boolean objects, also try tweaking the size and position of the boolean objects. And like I said in the tutorial fewer objects per boolean modifier works better. :)

you have to set the images properly then after you rotate, enter in edit mode and move the plane then so the center of it stays there when applying mirror modifier to work as intended.

No i could not. Gave up on this one. Might be a problem with our different versions of Blender. IE - A lot of tutorials show drag'n'drop, but on my Version i can't. I'm on Blender 2.78

No worries, I found an easy fix. At the 'corner' you want to curve the object, select it, press W, and click "Remove Doubles".

When adding the solidify modifier Blender completely fucks up the model. When I use the mirror modifier to complete the rectangle and check the box for x and z, the other half of the rectangle appears on the other side of the first half rather than connecting to it in the middle like it should. This is a problem I've been having with the mirror tool for as long as I've been using Blender, and while I have solutions to get around it to get the same quality of work without using the mirror modifier, it makes things a whole lot more complicated than they would be if I could get this annoying problem solved. If anyone knows how to fix it, please let me know :).
