I have edited the conf file,. restarted apache, tried various combinations and IP and domain name, with no luck. Kind of strange but I'll figure it out.

Scroll down the comments to one from a year ago from @kshit.....5563 with the same problem. The reply has the answer. It has to do with the order in which you rename the IP to domain name. I algo ended up deleting the mysql database but May not be neccarry

I ran into a similar issue , however it was a mistake I made in following Raj’s instructions . When updating the URL’s under General Settings in the wp-admin console from the IP address to the host name make sure to remove to ‘/wordpress’ along with replacing the ip address. Watch the Video again for clarity. This was the mistake I made which lead to 404 when trying to access the wp-admin console. Hopefully it helps. ^^^

For anyone who is stuck after registering an A record with your DNS settings, this is the proper fix. Another way of phrasing it: Remove the DocumentRoot, ServerName, and ServerAlias values from the 000-default.conf file in your apache directory Restart apache with sudo systemctl restart apache2 In a web browser go to your WordPress admin page (IP Address/wp-admin) and go to Settings @15:45 in the KZbin video. Remove the /wordpress from the "WordPress Address (URL)" and "Site Address (URL)" entries, but leave the IP address for now. Go back to the 000-default.conf file on your Apache webserver and add the DocumentRoot, ServerName, and ServerAlias values back in and save the configuration. Restart apache with sudo systemctl restart apache2

i found the same problem and just figured out, 1. dont rename the documentroot just skip this part > 12:57 2. continue the tutorial at 14:09 3. and after you click "Save Change" at 16:00 your website will be broken. 4. then just add the 13:40 part :) Viola ! the website now is completed, no broken, no bug, and load properly! :D

@@LYEESNET92 hey, I ended up going with a different solution to wordpress. But, something that might work is creating .html pages manually and then configuring them to be referenced by the links in the wordpress landing page.

Hi. There was a problem with redirecting apache2 home to wordpress. The wp-admin gave 404. I tried the alias line (you pointed to ignore). It worked but for some reason now wordpress won't accept my login credentials. The working solution was to delete wordpress folder (and the wp DB) and start over the setup steps. But this time point apache home to worpress folder before doing wordpress setup in the browser. Apparantly doing that in reverse order breaks wordpress generated links during setup. Neverthelless your videos are extremely useful and excelently breif to the point. Subbed.
