5:35 if you're finding it hard to do the sliding part, make sure to select the snap joint of the upper tube when the blue arrow is pointing down. Then use the Blue minimum joint motion limit arrow instead of typing in the value. That worked for me.

I GOT THE BALL JOINT WORKING CORRECTLY!!! The Section Analysis tool helped me identify conflicts that prevented Contact Sets from working. I shrank the ball by 0.1mm, cut the right side of the mount path in the red stand 0.7mm, cut a new tangent arc through the bottom of the path, and chamfered the path edges 1mm. After that the contact set between the camera mount and red stand are working perfect! :D

first of all, thank you for the video course! learning a lot. I have a question: when I try to move the joints, it grabs the whole assembly and moves it, instead of just sliding the leg for example. what goes wrong here?| thank you!
@MatthewHales6 ай бұрын
For some reason when setting the resolute joints for the three leg/body junctions the values of Min -40 and Max 25 work on only two of the joints. When those values are entered into the third joint the Min Max positions end up in very different places when click-dragged through their full range of motion.

Hi, this video series is great so far but I'm struggling to move the joints. They'll move, but refuse to stay put, with the exception of one revolution joint I haven't found a difference in. I'm moving them well within the defined limits, they won't move further anyways. Is there a setting I could've changed on accident?
@johnyxnn5 ай бұрын
Thanks for the videos. One question, I have not find any thing to physically limit the motion of the leg, so if i 3D print this thing the leg will fall out, correct? What can i do to improve the model so after 3D printed it can limit the motion? Further question is, if such feature is added to the 3D model, will the program be able to pick up the limit automatically (perhaps through physic engine collision algorithm)?
@ProductDesignOnline4 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, this model was not designed with 3D printing in mine. You could a lip on the end to prevent the tube from sliding out. That said, Fusion's joints will not automatically detect that you still have to set the joint limits.

It is better to make multiple components with rigid joints or one component with multiple bodies?
@ProductDesignOnline Жыл бұрын
Really depends on the design and your objective. My personal preference is to have multiple components with Rigid joints as it's more future proof if you do need to change joints/position/motion in the future.

Hi there! I've got a problem with joints. For example, try to make a body and name it Body1 or whatever you like. You can't move it till use "move" function and it's ok. After that make a component from the Body1 and then you can move it free just clicking on it the left mouse button and it's ok too. Next use "Ground" function with component and it will freeze his position. Now make the second clean project and insert your component Bosy1 in this new project using function "Insert into Current Design". You still can move it free just clicking mouse on Body1. And here we are close to something interesting. Use the "Ground" function for Body1 here to freeze it....... I CAN still move it after all ..... WTF ???!!!!

Link to the selection set video to limit the motion of the gimbal ball-joint?
Anybody else having trouble with the revolute joint on the last leg? The limits are tied to each other somehow and I can't set them where I want them. As if there's another constraint or a defined parameter that I don't see. *Edit*...Figured out how to get past it, but still not sure why that was the case. I had to change the z-axis to a different circle center.
