Love this series. Just finished watching the whole thing after going through a udemy course. Your videos smoke the ones on Udemy. If you throw up a "pro" video course with more advanced techniques in a longer format on udemy or your website or anywhere else--I would totally buy. Seeing the quality of these I would feel confident in dropping $300-$500 on such a course if you ever get around to it!

Thanks! I do offer many courses and our popular 'Masterclass' via the PDO Academy - academy.productdesignonline.com/bundles/pdo-academy Note that the Masterclass is currently geared towards Woodworking type projects, but working on 3D printing specific one. Can you share more specifics on the types of projects you're working on?

@@ProductDesignOnline I am looking to start one that will use carbon fiber tube stock, heim rod ends, metal fasteners, rope, and fabric. Might use 3d printing and sheet metal during prototyping

It took me few months, but today I finished watching all tutorials from your very first video:) I would say 60% I did follow with Fusion and printed fine. Others just watched to learn theory. Thank you for your videos.

I was just wondering if you'd ever finish this series, and boom you post this today. Very glad to see a new installment today, it's been a while since I've used Fusion so I'll need to restart my learning... Regardless thank you so much for making these tutorials, and best of luck with wrapping up the series!

Trying this. I have good uses for using surfaces but always have trouble. your tutorial helps but I have trouble with the trim, I select the cutting surface then the surface to trim but the whole surface thats supposed to be trimmed disappears what is wrong? Edit: I see. the cutting surface has to also cut through an edge of the surface being cut or it won't work

Of course it is easier to copy single surface than the solid body. But in that case you need to thicken 3 bodies instead of 1, so it may be even more expensive.
@ProductDesignOnline
@ProductDesignOnline 27 күн бұрын
It's not and I've tested and confirmed that with the Fusion team. Pattern/copy is more taxing than thicken due to how parametric features are processed.

Thanks a lot. That's the video I was waiting for :) Question: What if we want a non constant thickness across the radius of the blade?
@ProductDesignOnline
@ProductDesignOnline Ай бұрын
Several ways to achieve that. The easiest that I could explain via text would be to have another loft below the first one, then connect them with a Loft or patch tool. You can use additional 'rails' with the loft if looking for very specific shape.

how would you model a varying blade thickess? most props have a thicker root. thx

@@ProductDesignOnline Thanks! I'd be very interested in seeing how to model the Schist disk, an ancient artifact with complex geometry. It looks to me like the mold for a lost wax casting.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm always trying to balance the speed, but unfortunately KZbin loves the ones at this pace. I recommend adjusting the playback speed from the settings icon. Many also find it helpful to watch it all the way through once, then a second time as they follow along.
