Here's something I learned the hard way: when creating a template in After Effects, if you don't need the Cinema 4D renderer, make sure you set the comp to use the classic renderer. That way, you can be sure the template can be used in Premiere Pro even if AE isn't installed.

This has way too many limitations right now. Adobe really needs to improve this part of the software. For instance, there is no way to add an image, a clip or a duration as a variable. You can only work on very basic things. Every time I want to make a template, I realize I can't do exactly what I want because Adobe doesn't allow it.

I rarely use templates when editing, but I may use tehm more now. The problem I found most annoying is that you need to have the fonts onstalled to use them like on many of the basic templates in Premiere Pro. Happy New Year!!! :-)
