Thank you so much! I love the look of the writing too. I initially included a part in the video where I was talking about what I was writing (sometimes it's deep and profound, other times I have no idea what to say so I talk about the weather). In this video, I'm writing about how self-conscious I am about journaling on camera! But since the text is so tiny you'd never know 😊

Dina’s incredible, isn’t she??? I took both her sketchbook habit workshop and her Instagram course and both have helped me immensely. I asked her how she felt about me making a video of my sketchbooks and she told me to go for it because she wants more people to become keepers of sketchbooks. I agree, it feels like magic to have these books now!!! Thank you so much for watching 🥰

Thank you so much! I learned the fundamentals from Dina, and I was initially nervous about sharing it, even though I've been using these techniques for awhile, because I thought it was *her* way. But when I talked to her she said she considers it non-proprietary, and she'd much prefer if more people began to keep sketchbooks. So I hope this video encourages more people to experiment and give it a shot!

Gorgeous! Do you put a barrier in between pages when you’re spritzing them to avoid damage to other pages?
@MarianneVanderDussen
@MarianneVanderDussen Жыл бұрын
Great catch! The paper itself doesn’t bleed through, however because the pages have a slight overlap, where there’s maybe a quarter inch of the page underneath visible when I am toning, I do put a piece of paper between them just to catch any brush flicks that occur. I learned my lesson on that one, and I accidentally got a blob on my grackle on the first page!

It is my professional opinion out of the MANY POD CAST of people who try to show TRACE and HOW TO TRANSFER, and continue to paint without giving recognition , ( LIKE YOU DO ), or the slop on paint and swirl , (SOME are PRETTY and I like) you art at the TOP in your explaining, what to use, or why you may choose not to use, is the best. TIME consuming to put on line for us to see, learn, THANK YOU. Speaking from someone who is 76, an NOBODY . lives Below POVERTY in USA. NO real family , Dyslexic, told recently in some Psychology TESTING, I am a BONA FIDE INFJ, another PEG HOLE, but I PAINT. It is consider NOT REAL ART. NOT looked as great, as many self centered interpretation of their feelings, which is thought as "REAL ART"

I had finished painting a Pair of Blue Herons, . I live near the great lake Michigan, and there are areas they NEST. like the Sandhill ,egrets, and swans.. I am trying to paint the Wildlife that I see in my state.. Not as easy to be alone, and areas where TOO many adults, half Drunk, because many of our parks, have become "BEER IN THE PARK", HOW great in a negative tone.. How do you keep your paint from drying out too fast, before used from your palette? I have seen a few great artist Pod Casts, but I like your s the best in explaining. State I live in we have about 344 + birds I have finished 50 as a pair

You are completely authentic and inspirational. I‘m not an artist myself per se, but next to playing piano and accordion, my second-greatest joy is creating collages. So I do know the deep joy of creation. Also, I have a great appreciation for visual aesthetics, and your videos are stunning and touch a depth inside that is unmarred by outer events, stress or anger. Thank you for that!
