Thank you! This is such an amazing tutorial. I happen to need to create a homeschool portfolio and wanted an easy digital option. It's such a great option to have my son get involved in creating it too.

Thank you, Sam for another great tutorial! Can’t wait to have students work on their own. First, I would like to try doing one for myself...

Thank you so much for this. I would love to do this in secondary education but I would need to make sure that each students portfolio is private. Would they have access to their portfolio after the class is done? I am trying to create a repository for my students to house their resume, philosophy statement etc. thank you so much for this!

Great video! Is there a way to make a Google site template for students? I'm asking for specific components to be added, so I'm thinking it might be easy to have the pages already set up for them, but I'm not sure how to implement that.
@NewEdTechClassroom3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Not in the same way you can with Google Docs/Slides/Jamboard by pushing out a copy through Google Classroom. You'd have to make the template in your Sites account, duplicate the site over and over again, and then share each site directly with students to use as a template. There might be a better way, in fact I have to think there must be, but that's the only way I'm currently aware of!

@@NewEdTechClassroom I was looking into this, too, and I was able to create a base design that I was able to submit as a template for my entire organization. I had to click on "template gallery" and then look in my organization instead of general. If a teacher cannot submit the template for the organization, then someone on the Googel Admin level for the organization can. This eliminates the need to duplicate over and over. Hope that makes sense and helps.

Thank you for a wonderful video. I would like to know if as a teacher we can certify a specific task or competency that the student has performed in class and it has been entered in the portfolio. Like with a signature of the teacher with date. Thanks in advance - Dr Sushith.

You might want to look into Seesaw to accomplish what you want to do. I have a separate video about making portfolios w Seesaw on my channel. (And a live show about it!)

Thank you for sharing this invaluable video clip. I'm thinking about creating my own teaching and learning portfolio using Google Sites and I could use your advice. Do you suggest this platform for teachers and their public "teaching portfolio" as well? Kind of like a resume + their reflections on their experiences and their contributions to the field. What do you think about it? :) Sherry.

I am trying to share my site without making it public, but my school is not on google classroom. How do I share the site or URL if the instructor doesn't have a google address?

There's a little person icon at the top right-hand side of the screen that you can click on to add your teacher's email address and give then editing access.

It would be great you create a tutorial about how to creat a Google Sites portfolio of lessons created on Nearpod
@NewEdTechClassroom3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately it probably wouldn't work very well to make a portfolio of Nearpod lessons in Google Sites because the two don't integrate well. The only real way to organize Nearpod lessons is within Nearpod itself.

HI Sam Thank you for this introduction to creating portfolios. Great stuff!. I conduct online courses. I would like to create a page where each student has their own folder to drop their assignments for assessment. Please help!
@NewEdTechClassroom2 жыл бұрын
You may just want students to have their own website and then share the link with you. You can then save the links on a spreadsheet. It could get messy if everyone is editing one website and more chances someone will accidentally delete someone else’s work.
