Thanks for this! Do you know a place where I can download european type symbols for the electrical fixtures ? For example the switches symbols are used in US and not in EU.
@BIMforInteriorDesign Жыл бұрын
I think there are many differences in electrical symbols even between European countries. I did this tutorial with US symbols, but for usage in my country I created my own symbols, which were based on a template which my local Autodesk reseller provided. I don't know of any place, where you could download good quality electrical families. You can try to search either manufacturer pages, or pages such as: Revitcity: www.revitcity.com/downloads.php CADforum: www.cadforum.cz/catalog_en/?fo=RFA

@@BIMforInteriorDesign Hi again, I came back with another question. I read everywhere that Revit LT does not support MEP families. Can you in fact insert MEP families in your project like power outlets and switches in your Revit LT project?
@BIMforInteriorDesign3 ай бұрын
@@Constantinesis Hi, you can use MEP Families in Revit LT. You can see in the video, that I created and used power outlets and switches. But be careful, there are many limitations. Especially for creating MEP systems, connections and calculations. I also found limit, that with LT you are not able to create new families of some categories. You must try it out yourself to see, whether LT is enough for your use. LT is not meant for designing MEP systems.

@@BIMforInteriorDesign Can you create new electrical outlets and switches or you can only use or edit existing ones? I dont want a full MEP project but to be able to create lighting and power outlet plans as part of the architectural project just like you did. I know should try it to know better.

@@Constantinesis You can do that - the same way I did in the tutorial. I was only using Revit LT. I am not sure now, whether you can create electrical families from scratch, but you can for sure edit existing families - so you can create your own set of families.

When I try to add switches, it doesn't display on my electrical plan but it does on my Main Level plan with all of my other elements. Is there something I need to do to the walls to make the visible on my electrical plan? Thanks for the helpful video!!

This might be caused by many things, so it's hard to tell. I would check view range. Or maybe check visibility/graphics overrides of the view - your generic annotations might be turned off in that view.

When I turned my lights red line weight, the recessed lights stay black. Any advice how to turn all lights red?
@BIMforInteriorDesign2 ай бұрын
Not sure about that, try checking, whether the recessed light are in the "lights" category.
