Hi i want to start with 3dsmax indie and revit LT. do you lose any important features for interior design projects compared to REVIT "Full" license ?
@BIMforInteriorDesign13 күн бұрын
I am not sure about that, but I think you loose the automatic bidirectional connection between 3DS Max and Revit. You will have to export the project from Revit LT and import to 3DS max. I would actually recommend using Twinmotion instead of 3DS max. It is much easier to learn and get good results fast.

Hello, I want to ask if there is a note in my Revit that states, "Instance Parameters can't be used in Type Parameter formulas." Type Parameter "n" is driven by Instance Parameter(s): "lenght"." do you have a solution for this?
@BIMforInteriorDesign23 күн бұрын
You can change the Length parameter to be type parameter. Alternatively change parameter "n" to be type parameter.

How can we place it inclined
@BIMforInteriorDesign2 ай бұрын
You have to use a reference pane on which the ladder is placed. The family, as it is created, does not allow for inclination.

As per using (wall sweep) technique for creating skirting & ceiling moldings, well its quick, neat & very good in schedules. The main challenge for my with this technique is losing the (tagging by category). If you faced the same problem, how could you deal with it for annotating the wall sweep?

Nice demonstration. Thanks alot. Side note, for water closets, beginning with (wall based family template) caused us some problems when trying to host on a wall from another linked file (like architectural model). The solution which worked with us was beginning with (generic face-based family template) then changing the Category to (Plumbing Fixture). This way it can be hosted on any face from links. I believe this workflow is quite famous for an expert like you, but I'm writing this comment for beginners who are watching your videos. Keep on the good work. 👏

can a revit project be opened in full revit version, what about compatibility in versions, like revit 2022, revit 2023 etc, how this whole thing works?
@BIMforInteriorDesign3 ай бұрын
Yes, LT projects can be opened in full Revit and vice versa. The compatibility of 2023, 2024, etc. versions works the same as full Revit - you can upgrade your project, but you can not downgrade to lower version.

The niche might be higher or lower than the cutting plane of your view. Try adjusting the height of the niche.

Hi, thank you for the video. Trying to follow along but stuck on aligning and locking the void to the reference lines. Can you advise on why I wouldn't be seeing the reference lines I create when in the "Floor Plan Ref. View"? In the "Placement Side" View, I extended them past the wall edges but that only revealed the horizontal line, not the two vertical ones.
@BIMforInteriorDesign3 ай бұрын
Hi, I am not sure how to fix that. Try temporarily hiding other objects which might obfuscate reference lines.

Unfortunately, we don't have similar option in 2021 version. We still have the traditional way drawing temporary detail line to snap to its middle point, then deleting it. A bit longer, but still valid.
@BIMforInteriorDesign3 ай бұрын
@@ArchAhmadWaheed Yes. Unless you upgrade, you have to use workarounds to achieve snapping to mid point.

you dont know how to use the software..learn how
@BonuxCouleur3 ай бұрын
Note that this only works with plan views. It does not work with Sections, Elevations and so forth. The fact Autodesk actually put a 'Rotate Clockwise' and 'Rotate Anticlockwise' views with bothering to rotate the title of the view shows how bloody useless they are at fixing and developing stuff. Revit is the biggest piece of shit software I have ever used, you can tell it is a patchwork of different software and technology stitched together. The modelling power is shit (snapping is awful, there is no intelligent assist with what you are trying to achieve) and everything is pretty much counter-intuitive. Why on earth do you have to pick a plan every time you want to achieve something... because Revit was built like shit it is not smart enough to consider that whatever view cut you are in this is where you want to work from. Not mentioning reference planes are only good in straight lines and perpendicular stuff. Unless you design shoe boxes, you are going to work on curves eventually. You know the adage there is a gazillion way to skin a cat, well with Revit there might be 20 logical ways to achieve one goal that you might think of, but only 1 is going to work and more often than not it is one that literally makes zero sense. That again shows Revit was not developed by Architects for Architects it was stitched with different bits and pieces of companies bought over when they have not killed them off. It is a shit software, you have to learn to beat the software to be good at Revit not work with it.
