Well done. It was fun to watch you take an idea from scratch and show us your thought process. And yeah, those "did you hear that?" smiles are what makes me feel like I'm with a friend showing me something cool.

Thanks Dom, Ever considered becoming a Music teacher at a school? You're a natural born teacher, you can teach like no one else I know, you have that thing about you that just makes us want to listen to all you say, and you say it in a way that makes it easy to understand and easy to remember. Can't wait for more Montage / Modx tutorials from you.

Hey Tommy, I used to teach at SAE (audio engineering and music production) but after I started producing music and doing mixing and mastering professionally as well as film music I simply don’t have enough time for teaching anymore 😊

Thank you soooo much for yet another great video on FM-X! It is to a great deal because of your tutorials, that I did dig deeper into FM synthesis on my MODX. After following your lead on a DIY kick, it really dawned on me how deep the sonic possibilities of FM-X really go. I am really looking forward to the next one!

Excellent video, Dom! I never dared try FM-X sound design before I watched your videos, I always figured it was too complex. Now I "get it" and use it all the time. Thanks for making them.

That was awesome! Watching you when smiling and editing sound is resembling me some of my most beautiful moments in my life! :) Thank you! Mind blowing instrument and synthesis. Well, let me ask another question. I hope you will probably know. On very old, but iconic Yamana SY-77 which I keep operational, there was a standard voice called Oz Hammer. It was incredible, but due to incompatible synthesis engines it is probably not possible to move it do Montage. Could you invent some clever way of synthesis such a wonderful sound? First question is did you ever heard Oz Hammer, but I assume yes, because you are Yamaha guru, so - maybe - will you find some way of recreating this crazy flapping and clamping sound?

This is awesome!! Although do you think there are any advantages in doing fm synthesis on hardware keyboard like this rather than in softwares? (I mean like in FM8, the new Halion FM engine…) I’d really like to know your opinion 😊

Hey dom great video! Can you please tell me how do you screen record the montage dispay?
@ScottsSynthStuff
@ScottsSynthStuff 4 жыл бұрын
You plug in a class-compliant USB to video adapter into the Montage or MODX USB port. When you turn the keyboard on, it will see the adapter as a display, and will echo the output of the touchscreen to it. You can then use a video capture device on that.
@SadhanaKhawas
@SadhanaKhawas 4 жыл бұрын
@@ScottsSynthStuff then how are you gonna record the audio thorough usb? Does the montage come with two USB ports?
@ScottsSynthStuff
@ScottsSynthStuff 4 жыл бұрын
@@SadhanaKhawas You use the USB port that the memory stick would normally plug into for the video feed. The other USB port can still be used for audio and MIDI.
